What users are saying:
I am a FOOL for using them as long as I did.
by brookhavenkk at Citysearch
Here are a few snippets of my horrible experiences at their Mini Service Department over the past five years:
1. They called to let me know my car was ready. I went in to pick it up and waited over an hour for them to bring it around. It turned out that they had not run it through the car wash yet and there was a backlog of cars going through the wash.
2. It took them over a week to complete an Inspection II. It should have taken 1/2 a day.
3. After picking my car up after repairs, I got about 2 miles away and it started chugging and sputtering. I managed to get back to Global - they fixed the problem and would not tell me what was had happened. (During two more visits new problems occurred. One was that the aux fan blew while they were running it through the car wash. The other time the power steering fan started making loud noises the day after I picked the car up.)
4. My car was making terrible noises on one Saturday morning. I waited 30 minutes to speak with my service advisor - and the receptionist finally told me to give up. All I needed to know was if they had a loaner available, and if not were there rental cars still available. They refused to give me an answer. (I even offered to pay for the rental, I just needed to know if there were any available.) She told me to come on in - and when I did it turned out that at the time we were ending our conversation, Enterprise had already been closed for almost 30 minutes.
5. Most recently, I had a similar situation as in #4 during a family emergency. I wasn't asking for anything outrageous - not special favors or treatment - I just needed to know if there were cars available and they would not tell me.
I will NEVER take my car there again and am trying another repair shop this week for an oil change. Global Imports Mini Service Department is the worst company I have ever dealt with and it is a shame, because even will all these problems, the people who work there are very nice. Whoever is in charge has no clue about how to run a service department. It's pathetic and disgraceful.

What Service? Don't Even Bother!

I had the worst experience ever today at Global. Aside from the rude people, there was absolutely no customer service. It was my first time at Global because of the horrible service I received at BMW of South Atlanta. In a nutshell, Frankie, a Service Advisor told me that he was too busy to check me out. Worst of all, they damaged my car. It looks like they backed into something about 3 times. There was no "I'm sorry". After they fix my car, I will never go back again. It's not worth the trouble.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Everything
Service Department Is Making Global BMW a Fortune
by BUZZRP at Citysearch
I have had the enviable "opportunity" to take my BMW to visit Global BMW's Service Department numerous times over the past few years. Apparently I bought a lemon. The Service Representatives are professional but it is clearly a mixed bag as to how empathetic or caring each one is. I've met with multiple service representatives and some care while others don't. Remember, you only represent $'s for them as they most likey get paid for how much in repair they generate.
I have to give the service department a BIG THUMBS DOWN as each time I take my car in it seems that something else breaks or goes wrong within a month of service or they don't fix the original problem that I brought the car in for. The IDrive on my BMW has been a complete nightmare and continously has errors. When I point this out they claim that it needs to be "re-masked" to the tune of $2,000 when it never worked from the beginning and should have been covered under the warranty. Every repair trip costs at least $500 but more normally $1,000+. The Global BMW service department stinks. Period!
I would love to know what BMW repair shop is the best in Atlanta, clearly it is NOT Global BMW.
- Pros: The Location
- Cons: Service Department, Costs, Inconsistent
Global Imports has me as a customer for life.

I would like to thank everyone at Global Imports for making the purchase of my new BMW 325i the BEST! My salesperson was especially helpful in locating exactly the car I wanted and answering all of my questions along the way. He worked diligently communicating with us all through the process and made sure we were satisfied in every way. I can't emphasize enough how much we appreciate the way we were treated by all your staff. You made us feel comfortable and appreciated. It was a pleasure doing business with you all and that's something I've never been able to say about the car buying process before now! You have my business for life. There is truly no other dealership in town like Global Imports BMW.
- Pros: Excellent value and the car literally looks like new.
Global Imports Exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend them!

Thank you for all your hard work/effort in the purchase of my BMW 335i.
First, let me tell you that the reason the BMW slogan is "BMW is the ultimate driving machine" is because IT IS THE ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE! This is the nicest car I ever owned and I am loving the drive around Atlanta, even makes the traffic jam not seem so bad.
You both showed me a tremendous amount of respect, knowledge and courtesy which has continued even after the sale. You were very conscientious of my crazy schedule and limited time.
Please be advised that I will highly recommend you and your dealership to anyone I know who is looking to purchase a car.
Keep up the great work!
- Pros: Excellent selection. I have never seen a BMW dealership with this much inventory.
Global Imports - Actual Letter To Dealer
by brandoncole at Citysearch
Basically, i've had 3 service appointments at Global, each of them consisted of Global not fixing the problem correctly the first time, and required me to take the car back again.
Beware: Global BMW sells lemons and have crappy customer service
by demib at Citysearch
We bought a new 2005 X5 from Global Imports which happily accepted our money with broad smiles. Since then, we have taken our car in for repairs for a annoyingly loud knocking sound in the front end 6 times and 5 times for the rigged up Nav. Sys. The most recent time was while on vacation in D.C.
And...don't count on GM, Dewayne Bowers, for any solutions to your problems. I don't know if he's lazy or what, but he sure spends a lot of time talking about what he's doing to help than actually helping. He's even gone as far as passing the "problem customers" off to another dealership when he suggested to Beth @ North America BMW that we take our car problems elsewhere. I'm sure this is what Scott Smith, President of Global BMW, hired him to tell customers. But I don't recall hearing that statement in their sales pitch or seeing it in any advertisement. Someone please tell these people that they are not doing customers any favors.
If you're looking for assistance from anyone at North America BMW, save your breath. The people there have same "who cares" attitude. We have been in touch with Customers Relations for nearly a year without any results. The last time they called me for a survey, I told them why even bother BMW don't take care of its customers.
For anyone whose thinking of buying a BMW, BEWARE. Stay away from Global BMW, and BMWs period, if you care not to invest in an expensive lemon and companies that will take you through hell. Customers who are having problems with this company or BMW North America, send your story to mersydbnz@comcast (net) You are not alone. It is time this company realize that it exist because of us!

Never had a problem with service..

Have brought my M3 in for maintenance and minor repairs. No problems at all, I have no complaints about the quality of the work done. Staff seem to be moving themselves very efficiently. Free rental car while repairs are done. If you show up first thing in the morning, it's going to be really busy and you're going to wait, so don't schedule 8am-9:30am.
- Pros: good location (for me), free rental during service
- Cons: morning service, pricey (but hey, it's BMW..)
Judgmental Sales Staff
by goalielax at Citysearch
Severely disappointed in the sales staff. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon ready to buy a late-model pre-owned M3 (not a bad deal for them to make a nice buck or two on). I was greeted by a salesperson who told me they were under-staffed and someone would be with me. I was wearing a polo, jeans, and nice shoes - typical of your late 20's guy. My buddy was wearing a t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops. Half an hour later, we still hadn't been attended to (but the guy who drove up in an SL 500 sure was within minutes of showing up).
Needless to say, I walked - and 3 hours later drove off the lot of BMW of South Atlanta in the car I was looking for after having someone greet me a minute after leaving the car (it was a rental my buddy was driving while his BMW was in the shop and I didn't feel like driving my Porsche) and getting a test drive after just a few minutes of looking around.
I can't wait to send them the picture of me shaking hands that afternoon in front of my new car at another dealership.
Moral of the story? You better look like you have money if you want service on the weekend.
- Pros: Big inventory
- Cons: Just about everything else
