If you love your dog, think twice!
by ursulaphoenix at Citysearch
I took my 2 Maltese puppies to Pet Set (Briarcliff) a few months back...a friend of mine raved about the place...Sam the groomer specifically. When we dropped them off, the guy behind the counter was less than friendly and Sam the groomer was no better, very cold and aloof toward my dogs. When I picked the dogs up, they looked beautiful?.perfectly groomed. Sam did a stunning job....BUT, I noticed that one of my dogs had this terrified look on his face like he had been abused or harmed. He kept staring at me like ?how could you, mommy.? I have a feeling they sedated him or injured him but I couldn't prove it. I just know my baby and he was not his happy chipper self, he sulked around the house for 2 days. I felt horrible! I will not be taking them back. My husband calls Sam ?the bad man.? Also, the groomer prices were ok, but the products in the store are WAAAAY overpriced. The have these celebrity photos hanging in the shop I guess to entice you....but who cares if Janet Jackson took her dog there! The care of my babies is what matters most, not the who's who that frequent the shop! Also, I noticed one of the day care attendants yelling at the dogs. Again, we will not be taking our dogs back. We used to go to Wag a lot in Midtown but the groomer that we loved, Sarah, left. We?re going to try Allure Pet Salon in Norcross. Wish us luck!
- Cons: suspected of sedating dogs, verbally abusive to dogs, poor customer service, overpriced products

LOVE THE DOGGIE DAY CARE
by DIEGO FAWCET at Citysearch
My pet loves the small play groups and they really play all day. Only time out for a nap and lunch. Always a human with them to keep everyone happy. Its like private school for pets. Watch them on line on doggie cam is so cool.
- Pros: SMALL GROUPS
- Cons: NOPE
My favorite place to take my pets
by Janet Jackson at Citysearch
I love this store and how they treat me and my pets. They know us by name when we walk in. Very professional and the grooming is by far one of the services I enjoy. I have never had any problems. They always make the time to visit with me and listen. Very clean facility.
The selection of accessories is out of this world.
- Pros: you feel the love they have

I am always so impressed with the professional staff. They make my pet feel so comfortable and she loves going there to shop and for the spa. They have the most interesting dog and cat items for your pet. If your not feeding your pet Life Abundance then you really should think about switching over. My pets skin and eye stains have gone away! I travel around the world and The Pet Set is one of my favorite places to visit when in Atlanta. You guys do such a wonderful job.
- Pros: Best groomers in Atlanta
- Cons: none
WHAT GREAT SERVICE and I love the dog toys
by MARY JONES at Citysearch
I always stop in to see what is new and the toy selection is the best in the city. I picked up a couple of new toys today that are just so cute. My pet is a tea cup and she loves her new Gucci pet carrier and the cute little squeek toys I got. The staff is so warm and friendly, they remember my pets name (and mine) each time I visit. Now that is customer service. Hands down the best place to take your pet in Atlanta.
- Pros: to many
- Cons: none to speak of
THE BEST DOG BATH EVER
by MARCUS WEB at Citysearch
I took advantage of the 25$ dog bath today and my pet came back to me smelling and looking great. We had spent the weekend in the mountains and he was a mess. Great job guys.
And thanks for turning me on to the Fromm pet foods, he loves the Surf and Turf
- Pros: VERY PROFESSIONAL
Love the Doggie Day Care
by RRABBIT at Citysearch
Bob really has an excellent doggie day care. What I think I like the most is the small groups that are always playing all day except for lunch and nap time. Small dogs and large dogs are seperated and Ricardo is always there to watch and play with them. Watch the day care on web cam
- Pros: many
- Cons: few
The Best place to take your pet
by eds at Citysearch
The Pet Set by far is where those in the know take their pets for grooming. They have been doing this for 25 years and know what they are doing. The staff is excellent and well focused on the pets. The products, foods, treats they carry are not what you will find anywhere else in town. Where do they find this stuff??? My dogs do the day care and its like private school and I love watching them on the internet from work. When I travel I board my pet with them in their kennel. If you have not tried The Pet Set then you are missing something. Gets my vote for Best of Atlanta.
- Pros: So many but my pick is the customer service
- Cons: I want to bring it all home

I've never experienced anything like this at The Pet Set. I wonder if your dog was just upset at being left someplace and was being mopey cause of it? I only ask cause my dog Lucky does the exact same thing, after being boarded, or being babysat by family. Anytime we go away, even for a few hours - he gets cranky... he used to eat my shoes in defiance but thankfully he's just resorted to sighing alot and wallowing.

I view these comments with severe skepticism. As an owner of several dogs, of varying sizes, breeds, and temperments I cannot rate any place higher than Briarcliff's Pet Set. As far as Sam is concerned, let's just say that once when one of mine was seriously injured, Sam cared for him like a skilled surgeon posing a mindful groomer. Three years of Sam's care and attention have redirected this once-crippled mid-sized Schnauzer back to his happy smiling self...I could not be more pleased.

What a bitter bunch of nothing. Sounds like a real nut job. Pitty the people at Allure Pet Salon. I love The Pet Set and my two dogs always come back looking like a millon bucks from Sam. I wonder what the husband calls crazy when she's not around or maybe the terrified look on the pets face was seeing you?

Maybe she was having a bad day and had to take it out on someone else. I have never seen or experienced anything but excellent service from front to back at The Pet Set. I know for a fact they do not sedate pets and I would not think they would be so highly thought of if the abused pets. I find the products very exclusive and unique, and being a shopper, yes you will pay more for those type of products. I guess she only shops off the salesrack, poor thing.

I would not think of taking my 2 year old Shih Tzu any place else for grooming. I am very particular about my dog and consider Sam to be an outstanding groomer. Sam also took excellent care of my elderly Lhasa Apso who required very gentle handling. The service and pet handling at The Pet Set is exceptional and I recommend them very highly.
