Delicious persian food!
by AnneStephenson44
I love Mirage because the food is so good and authentic. The kabobs are all wonderful, I recommend the chicken barg kabob or the fish filets, those are my favorites. I also love the rice because it is fluffy and it tastes so good with the kabob. The best part about Mirage is that it is definitely reasonably priced for the quality and the amount of food that you get. The wait staff are all really nice and the owner is especially welcoming. Will definitely be eating here often.
- Pros: Fresh, delicious food
- Cons: None!
good food, good ala carte lunch prices
by RobertoC
Best Koubideh(it's that minced meat thing shaped kind of like a long sausage) in Atlanta.
Shireen Polo(chicken chunks with rice, a few vegetables, orange rind, raisins, etc) is another great entree.
They do a pretty good with the rest of the entrees.
I did notice the flatbread varies from one Persian restaurant to another. Very different, but most of them are good. They serve unlimited hot flatbread which is nice. For lunch, they serve a soup that is great to have on a cold rainy day.
My only bad experience has been the owner. Some big fat guy who looks like he could be an Iranian version of Tony Soprano just sits in a corner doing his own work on a computer. Whenever there are any problems, he has a weird way of handling with things. Once our waiter made the mistake of serving dinner equivalent of a lunch item and then charged us for the dinner price. When we pointed out to the server that we requested it from the lunch menu, he changed the price back to lunch. The owner then comes to our table and tells us that he will deduct the price differential from the waiter's pay. Very unclassy way to deal with the customer. It was 2 extra chunks of lamb. The server's mistake ended up in me getting 2 extra small chunks of lamb - probably a dollar in meat costs at most. For that, the owner ruined our mood as we left because we felt bad for the waiter. The owner should have handled it internally. Other times too, I just notice a bored looking owner kind of serving as a damper in the corner. Whenever a waiter forgets my table and I need more water, he just sits there without making sure a waiter is there for me even though he has seen me trying to flag down a waiter. I preferred the guy in suspenders who used to be the manager(?) presence in the restaurant a few years ago.
- Pros: Excellent Koubideh, decent lunch prices
- Cons: unfriendly owner

Fabulous dining experience!

This past weekend I took my American friend out to dinner. I am so proud of myself for choosing MIRAGE Persian Cuisine to dine out. I must say that I am a vegetarian, and it is a bless to find a restaurant where you can enjoy hot Persian meals without meat! My selection "Ghorme Sabzi" was great and out of this world. My friend on the contrary is a true meat lover and ordered a Chelo Kabob Soltani. He is still taking about that dish three days later! Service was friendly and the prices where reasonable. One nice touch there was their hot home-made bread which was sereved with fresh herbs and Persian feta cheese. YUMMMMMMMie;-). I highly recommend this eatery and I am certain that I will go there again.
- Pros: Totally satisfied
FANTASTIC without exaggeration

I've been to this restaurant a couple of times since I am always in Atlanta on business. Unfortunately, the Persian restaurants in my hometown of Houston, TX are just terrible. So I have always been longing for good authentic Persian food that rivals what my mom can make. At Mirage I've ordered the Shirin Polo, Beef Soltani, Chicken Soltani. They were all not just excellent, but left me craving it for WEEKS afterwards. The owner and her staff are so friendly that it makes me feel at home. The food didn't just remind me of my mom's, but I'm a younger guy and the way the owner treats me reminds me of my mom. That's a good feeling to have when you're away from home. The Shirin Polo was cooked ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! When they bring the plate to your table you can instantly smell the trademark aroma that's just plain intoxicating. The waitresses are very professional and their service is wonderful. As I visit Atlanta from Houston every week, I plan on making this a must stop once a week!
- Pros: AMAZING FLAVORS! Waitresses are professional and friendly. Owner is so sweet.
- Cons: NONE!
My Wife and I love Mirage
by synaptic
We have always had good service at Mirage (over the last 7 years) and the food is consistently great. Farrah (the owner) has always gone out of her way to make sure everything is done right! I can only say that I am thrilled to have this restaurant in Sandy Springs as well as the other fine persian restaurants!
- Pros: Delicious, well prepared food that is healthy as well.
- Cons: Outside tables overlook a parking lot.
Perhaps 1,001 nights are in order to enjoy this sumptuous Persian food in Sandy Springs.

The Scene
Mirage's decor is simple but comfortable: Doric columns, black metal furniture dressed with white tablecloths, sedate artwork and a tasseled swag above the windows facing the patio and parking lot. A table at the front of the restaurant features Iranian magazines and Farsi ads. Traditional music plays as the smiling servers circulate through the room, happy to answer any questions the descriptive menu doesn't.
The Food
Start with a sampler combination of refreshing shirazi salad spiked with lime juice; two different smoky eggplant spreads; and savory dolmeh, peppers stuffed with minced lamb. Khorescht-e-Fesenjan, a rich chicken, minced walnut and pomegranate stew, is sweet and sour; Shireen Polo, "the jewel of Persian rice dishes," features orange peel, saffron, barberries, slivered almonds, pistachios and raisins. Meat lovers will adore the Sultan's Kabobs, with juicy filet mignon and ground sirloin skewers. For dessert, try intoxicating rosewater ice cream studded with pistachios.
No customer service

We had been eating at this restaurant for a couple of years. Then a new persian restaurant opened and we started going there. We still were loyal to dining at Mirage until we found out how bad the customer service is there. We asked for a different stew (same price as the one they use) on one of their appetizers (Tahdeg) & they will not allow it. This is ridiculous! I would think the owners would be a little more customer-friendly since they now have stiff competition down the road that accomodates any request from customers. The other restaurant also provides free feta cheese (a speciality of Persian restaurants) & this restaurant charges for it. Do yourself a favor, go to the other Persian restaurants which are located right down the road.
- Pros: If you are really craving Persian food, this place is acceptable.
- Cons: There are much better Persian restaurants to eat at.
Terrible Service Topped with Attitude
by atlantatalk
I have been to this place before and had mixed experiences. But the last time was the worst. The food was okay, but our waiter had a horrible attitude. Firstly, it took almost 1 hour to get our food. No drink refills were offered. We had to specifically ask him for the paper napkins. And when we left the restaurant, he followed us outside the restaurant asking for more tip. And when we explained to him that his service was very slow, he started arguing and insisting on giving him more tip. Never seen that before! One advice - never dine at Mirage.
- Pros: Food
- Cons: Attitude, Service, Wait
Excellent neighbourhood Persian
by bigmuthuwarrior
I live a stone's throw away from this place, and I can't believe I didn't try it earlier. One of the better Persian foods I've ever had. DO NOT MISS the kashk-e-badamjan (the eggplant appetizer). The persian tea also has a great aroma. The kabobs are delicious and the rice is very well cooked. Wait staff knowledgeable, and personable. Heck, I'm going there tonight!
- Pros: Quality food, Knowledgeable waiters, friendly service
