Awesome Super Happy Funtime Fish. Snobs go away!

I gave this place (either location) 5 stars because for me it is one of the most enjoyable places to go grab a bite, and I always look forward to it. It is by far the most fun restaurant to eat in. And (hold your breath snobs), the sushi rules. Granted, I don't eat the traditional sushi here, when I want cold, raw, mostly flavorless fish, I eat it on business trips to San Francisco or New York. If I want food with awesome flavor and texture, this is the place.
I wouldn't even call it sushi, I'd call it Awesome Super Happy Funtime Fish. It tastes great, the atmosphere is very fun, and the proprietors are exceedingly gracious and hospitable.
- Pros: Great food, great atmosphere, Saki Bombs!
- Cons: Way too easy to eat (and drink) too much
VERY AVERAGE

I was born and raised in Japan so trust me...the sushi here is very average, with average neta (ingredients). Its okay for a quick bite to eat and the price is reasonable, but I wouldnt take anyone here for authentic sushi. Oh yeah, the rice is often undercooked and its not flavored as it should be. For authentic sushi try Sushi Yoko in Norcross.
Saki Happy Sushi Horny RuSan's Is The Best For Happy & Horny People!

After reading some of the not-so-complimentary reviews on here, I am shocked and appalled at the fact that Certain people have put this Wonderful Restaurant down. I take clients there all the time, and I have never had a bad experience. Ru San, the owner is a pleasant, generous, sweet man and a true artist both with a knife and a brush. I personally own 2 of his paintings and plan on getting more.
If you're not up for a party and you would rather sip your green tea in a quiet corner booth with a truncated, boring, "traditional" (not to mention tasteless!) raw fish menu, then by all means, keep your tight-assed self clear of Ru San's.
If, however, you love sushi with a ton of choices & twists in addition to other excellent non-raw Japanese cookin' - AND you like to actually PARTY!!! - Then, please, come on down & Step to The Ru!! :)
WOO-HOO!!
- Pros: Awesome Food, Total Party Atmosphere, Generous Staff & SAKE!!!!!
- Cons: None Whatsoever!!

I come here every week for their all you can eat sushi buffett, I believe they stop at 2:00pm!~ It's features a wide array of choices as far as sushi and at $9 YUMMY... You need to find time and go in there for lunch!!! For those that don't eat sushi, they also have rice/ oriental chicken/ lo mein and assorted non-sushi food.
Dinner: Is a bit different, they don't have the bar but instead they have a sushi list the length of a football field to choose from.... I LOVE Ru Sans~
This is a loud atmosphere... always pleasant... always fresh!~ VERY TRENDY, without the price tag and designer* food.
Remember you have to order a sake BOMB!~ Oh and definately a fun place to go with friends on your birthday~
- Pros: great atmosphere, great food and friendly staff make this my #1 pick for atlanta sushi~
- Cons: pppfff, what cons?
It was straight.

Took a date there who was from out of town. We discovered it cause we was trying to find our way home from Lenox Mall. Waiter was a little slow but made up for it. Sushi was yummy. Liver, gizzard and some other stuff on the stick was fantastic. Warm saki was delicious. Great location for city view. Patio seating too. Got some booty after eating here. =)
- Pros: Parking, Sushi, City View
- Cons: Server kind of sucked.
a bit of a disappointment

After being in Atlanta for nearly 2 years and being a fan of sushi, my friends were shocked that I had not been to RuSan's. Curious of the local favorite and the reason for all of the hype, I decided I'd try it for dinner. While I was impressed with the vast selection, I must say that the menu suffers from what I like to call Cheesecake Factory syndrome. Allow me to explain: so concerned with filling book-like menus, these restaurants list a multitude of items but never specialize in anything in particular. What they have in quantity, they sacrifice in quality. While on the subject of quality- never in my 10+ years of eating sushi have I seen a spicy tuna roll smothered with what appeared to be eel sauce. I sampled my friends' roll- thick brown sauce is a good way to visually mask unhealthy looking tuna but the taste was unforgivable. I've heard people rave about the value of the meal there, but my advice is to skip the third sake bomb and use the money to treat yourself to better quality sushi.
- Pros: parking, funky atmosphere
- Cons: sushi
Great Sushi, Great Fun

Ru San's was my first experience with sushi. I was immediately in love. Granted I get rolls that aren't very sushi-esque (tempura fried cream cheese anyone?), it's a great restaurant. I've since been to many other sushi places all over Atlanta and none can compare for value and variety. Most sushi places have an extremely limited menu, but not Ru San's! It's a little daunting at first, but if you're patient or ask your waiter (radical concept to other reviewers!), you can find what you want.
I find the staff very polite and helpful. I've never had a problem with service. I've gone with large groups, on a date, and just for a night out with some girlfriends. It does attract a lot of college kids (mostly GA Tech and GA State), so if you don't like rowdy groups, I wouldn't recommend it, especially late at night.
- Pros: Amazing value
- Cons: Attracts rowdy college kids
Best sushi buffet imaginable

Well, the locals know that RuSan's lunchtime sushi buffet is the best deal in town. Ordering off the menu for dinner or lunch, or sampling some of the rolls at lunch, you'll taste some odd combinations on occasion. But that's what makes RuSan's experimentation fun. Love the sea bass yakatori too.
- Pros: Sushi buffet is the best, Experimental rolls
- Cons: Experimental rolls
great experience

Great atmosphere for a Friday night. Very friendly waiters. Drinks are very good; sushi is only okay, but the lively music, great servers, and fantastic atmosphere make up for it. Definitely go with a group of people.
- Pros: great drinks, great scene

All of RuSan's restraunts are great. The food, staff, selection, prices are all on time. I have never had a bad experience at RuSan's. He has been treating Atlanta for a long time. His art is good too.
- Pros: food, people, prices
- Cons: none
