Great food. Live music. Cool place

by ATLPCTech

For my wife's birthday (June 7th), she wanted to eat a spanish cuisine.

So, I went Citysearchin' for spanish restaurants and came across Eclipse Di Luna. The reviews seemed very favorable.

When we got to the restaurant, we were seated immediately. It is not as cozy as I would have liked it to be for the event but it is still a great restaurant. Sometimes, the live music seemed a little loud but it is not ear-drum shattering and you don't have to scream your lungs out trying to talk over it.

The lighting hanging from the ceiling gives it a nice touch at night time. Plus they have places for you to sit outside if you prefer.

Our server, Cooper, was excellent. She was very attentive to her section. I noticed that she would walk up and down every so often looking for drink levels, unused plates, etc and she was quick to remove and refill as necessary.

We had a small amount of ribs as an appetizer and they were delicious. However, the main course, Chicken / Seafood Paella (it has a slightly different name on the menu) was just awesome. I will try the vegetarian Paella next time.

Note: If you don't want leftovers, one order of the Paella dish will serve 2 people. They give you a lot!

Overall, it is a great place and we will be back very soon.

  • Pros: The food and service was great!
  • Cons: None that I could think of at the moment.

HORRIBLE Manager

by proma

I totally agree with another user review (by spold). The manager is atrocious and very very unprofessional to say the least.

Me and my girlfriend were there recently to have a few drinks. I live across the street and so have been to this place several times before. As we ordered our drinks, a few gentlemen starting talking to us. They were visiting businessmen. We had short conversation but they were nice and offered to pay for our drinks, and told the bartender that they will pick the tab for the drinks we were having and the next one as well.

Well, by they left after a while and me and my girlfriend ordered another round of drinks (white Zin, nothing too dizzy). I ordered another Zin afterwards. So in all we had 5 drinks. Around 11pm we were ready to leave and asked for my tab to be closed. He brought me my bill which charged me for 3 drinks. I was a bit perplexed and asked him whether the gentleman before me paid for the first 4 drinks or not. In the middle of our conversation, the manager barged in and even before hearing the whole thing started threatening us " You have to pay or else I will CALL THE COPS" . We were dumbfounded !!! Its not that we were two barely legal girls out drinking. I am a professional lady in my 30s, its not like paying for a couple of drinks matter anything to me. The manager did not even WANT to listen to us and basically wanted to use threat to resolve the issue.

Unfortunately we are Never going to return and None of my friends are either. I would strongly advise you to go next door to the newly opened Twisted Taco to get a drink.

That manager NEEDS to GO.

  • Pros: Nothing after the last experience
  • Cons: The WORST manager

Don't Bother

by daisys_mom

My father and his wife were visiting town so I wanted to take them to somewhere fun. I made a reservation so that we would not have to wait around for a table. So much for that idea! We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated after we checked in with the hostess. I honestly do not understand why I even bothered to make reservations. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table if I have made reservations.

When we were finally seated, we waited around for 10 minutes looking for our waiter. Nobody showed up, so we got up and left.

The only things else I can say about Eclipse Di Luna is that the music is very loud, you can barely have a conversation. The tables and chairs and very crowded and you can barely walk through to get to your table.

I will not be coming back.

  • Pros: Interesting vibe
  • Cons: Poor service, tables and chairs too close together, reservations don't mean anything

The Spanish style ribs are a must!!!

  • Pros: Price + Taste= Great Time
  • Cons: Anytime after about 8 pm the wait can be a litlle long.

Food was great, the drinks were mixed correctly, the service and wait staff were on it. All of these things were appreciated and we had a great time! We will do it again!

When can I go back?!

by advaitin

I don't know if it was the cocktails we had before we had the food, but the food we had there was beyond awesome! We tried the special of the day-quail wrapped in zucchini (although didn't quite get the zucchini-the quail probably decided against it..pretty warm weather that evening...), and couple of other items off the menu-goat cheese stuffed peppers, ceviche and the flan for dessert. My mouth still waters when I try to recall the flavors of the ceviche and the peppers. The flan was near perfection. I hate to describe food using any other adjectives than those meant to describe food, but you will am sure pardon me for calling the flan near perfection, when you too have tasted it.

The atmosphere was great-packed to the hilt with friday night hip, midtowners, but when there's great live music and a mojito to boot, who's complaining?

Reservations are not a gurantee but the food is good.

by onechris

The place is getting known in this Industrial dead end road. Here is a food joint at the end of the road. They have just redone the parking lot recently. The parking is better now since being repaved and new lines were painted. Before people just parked anywhere. The place has been featured on the news and in the local papers so it is a hot spot. Reservations are not guranteed here but only hold your place in line or get you on the list. I know the bar area is open to anyone so no reservations for that area ever but all other areas do require seating which can be 30 minutes or more of a wait on the weekend. Just keep in mind it is not a white linen place so it is causual and just go with the flow. I would suggest maybe a tip to the person seating folks to get a table faster? It could work for you but this place is so small not much room so if you hate to wait you better go early and not mess around. The music can be very loud. The reason again is that it is so small and I am guessing no more than 5000 sqaure feet if that ? The place is in a industrial building which was a store at one point so the conversion of the space also explains the funky layout. It is for the best of words a hole in the wall place for locals so it has charm. The service from the wait staff has been favorable but they get busy and you have to be agressive to get them to stop and remind them what you want everytime you get a chance. It has grown in favor of the locals so it is now established. So much for an easy wait or quick service unless it goes out of favor.

  • Pros: unique and fun food
  • Cons: reservations are not real and service is slow

beware of reservations

by piedone

Thinking that this is a good "date spot" as the editorial review suggests, I made reservations for me and my wife to dine there for a Sunday evening. It turned out that it was a bad experience after all. We got there and discovered that they had some sort of singles night going on then. As a result, many people were standing and roaming around with labels with their names attached to their chests. I mentioned our reservation and she said that they have either a table for 6 where they can sit us or we can go outside (about 55 F that evening). Well, the said table for 6 was right in front of the door and surrounded by many of the singles that were trying to get their conversations going. They were clearly bumping some of the chairs with their backs. I could not see myself as having a nice date by taking a table in such a crowded location. Also, our reservation was for two and not for six.

The hostess got snappy fast and she said in response to our question about the use of our reservation that "I do have a table, don't I?". We left. So, if you make reservations to have a nice date, please be aware that you might be asked sit in the cold or at an improvised table for you.

Buckhead tapas bar wins with top-notch flavors and cozy, colorful atmosphere.

by Contributor

The Scene
Situated inauspiciously in the farthest reaches of a warehouse district, Eclipse seems like an unlikely candidate for fun second dates or rowdy, wine-soaked outings with your pals. Inside, a large room centers on a shrine of flickering candles. Flamenco guitar players generate a lively hum. Randomly matched tables are bordered by deep, comfortable sofas. Service is fast and friendly.

The Food
Small plates packed with big flavors transform Eclipse from into a restaurant that's worth a special trip. Since it's a tapas restaurant, you'll be able to sample a wide range of dishes. Serrano ham comes sliced paper-thin and garnished with roasted peppers and dense, fruity olives. The pungency of fresh horseradish transforms flaky bites of smoked mackerel. Rounds of seared rare tuna are perfumed with rich Moroccan spices. A fresh, pretty salad of diced tomatoes and red onion perfectly offsets a plate of lightly fried calamari.
