Domus never delivers
by marvh at Citysearch
After ordering furniture here and giving a hefty deposit, we are 7 months and counting for delivery. Customer service has been nil- we call and all we get is, " we don't know when you'll get it." They take your money and leave you hanging. They gave us the excuse that the factory actually closed down for a few months, but only after repeated calls on our part- they have never been proactive in communicating about our order. Had we been informed of the delay, we would have canceled and gone elsewhere. Now it's Christmas and we still have no living room furniture.
Don't go here unless you can't possibly find it anywhere else. We should have.
- Pros: Great designs
- Cons: You'll never receive them.

The Scene
Slick modern design slinks across the pale wood floors and stark white walls in Domus' main showroom, a space with vaulted warehouse-high ceilings. Architects, designers and wealthy homeowners browse the open floor plan, with living room and kitchen designs at the entrance, bedroom and office at the rear of the store. Downstairs, shiny home accessories woo.
The Goods
The ultra-contemporary furniture of B&B Italia, Driade and Mexalto is set up in living room-like arrangements. The rear of the showroom boasts an entire wall of plastic, cardboard and leather chairs. Also find unusually shaped couches, grand oak tables, low-lying beds, ultramodern foam chairs and aluminum desks--each a work of art. Downstairs, the Driade dishes, Alessi kitchen and bath accessories, Iittala crystal and Salviati glassware tempt with elegant, yet quirky, charm. The lighting shop boasts modern track, floor and tabletop options.
A breath of fresh air (at a price)

New to the area (Athens, actually...), we visited Domus while looking for a table for our new home. While we didn't see what we wanted in the showroom, we did see many very interesting pieces. The best thing about the experience was that, unlike the service at other furniture stores we've visited in the Atlanta area, the folks here were very helpful and professional -- that is, no stalkers, no snubs. We left with a handful of designers' brochures and a determination to visit again for future needs.
- Pros: friendly staff, elegant designs
- Cons: limited viewing
Upscale modern design
by patti319 at Citysearch
Upscale modern design. Difficult to find modern designer's furniture, furnishings and lighting.
- Pros: Modern design, hard to find stuff, collectibles
- Cons: "Pricey" for some
