Great Southern food - breakfast and brunch, in a great 50s style decor restaurant. Egg breakfasts, grits, red eye gravy, biscuits and signature pork chops! Its a really fun place to meet up - and its really close to everything - Georgia Tech, Atlantic Station, Midtown.. - so its really really popular!!
- Pros: The best Southern Breakfast in Atlanta
- Cons: Cant think of any

Being known as 'king of breakfast' among my friends, they expect me to point them in the right direction.
Let me start by saying The Silver Skillet is ground zero!
This has got to be the most real food I've had in some time. Nothing faddy, nothing put on--no salsa, bean sprouts or tofu here. This is where one goes to get back in touch with their inner self. The good old days when men were men and women were women--The food is outstanding, service fast and friendly and the 50s atmosphere is unique to this 50s diner.
You couldn't reproduce this anywhere else than at The Silver Skillet.
Yet again, I've found the perfect breakfast spot. Hail to the King!!
- Pros: the entire menu and atmosphere
- Cons: can't think of any

recently saw this place on my favorite tv show-"Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" on the food network--it showed off this place so much that I had to come see for myself. This is a one of kind find--a 50s diner that actually began in the 50s. Since 1956!! in Atlanta!! rare indeed in these days of chain restaurants. The owners were both working when I stopped in Saturday to a line out the door. This is a popular spot!! Now I can see why. The food is just like the show said--Fantastic--the service, atmosphere-just the best. I'm glad no one has made this a chain- it just wouldn't be the same. The owner, Teresa was ready with a smile and a Good Morning!! Not easy to find these days. I just can't say enough other than I WILL BE BACK!!!
- Pros: everything
- Cons: just couldn't eat everything on the menu in one stop

I had heard about this place--you know-old 50s diner, great food, etc.. but had to see to believe---I'm a BELIEVER! This place is great--a true throwback to the 50s--I think even the waitresses were around then--great food--biscuits are the best ever. I will be back and am a fan for life.

saw it on Diners, drive-ins and dives last week--looked like someplace I needed to go.
What a trip! a true 50s diner with all the right stuff-good atmosphere, friendly service and of course, good food. After hearing that this place has been here since 1956 I can see why.
Fantastic place--I HIGHLY recommend you try it!
- Pros: everything
- Cons: only one

AFTER BEING TOLD THAT THIS PLACE HAD THE BEST BISCUITS IN TOWN--I HAD TO CHECK IT OUT.
THE INFORMATION WAS ABSOLUTELY TRUE! THESE ARE THE BEST BISCUITS I HAVE EVER TASTED. SERVICE WAS FROM THE OLD SCHOOL, FOOD WAS TOP NOTCH.
I READ ALL THE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PLACE AND CAN UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ARE STILL IN BUSINESS AFTER 52 YEARS.
CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE DINERS, DRIVE-INS AND DIVES SHOW IN THE FALL--THEY WILL BE FEATURED
- Pros: BISCUITS, SERVICE, FOOD
- Cons: NONE

Stopped in last week for a bite of breakfast. Had heard about this place for a while. Easy to get to and worth the trip--from whereever. Great southern breakfast--stick to your ribs food--not tofu or beansprouts. It's obvious why this has been here so long--good food and good service. I'll be back.
- Pros: food, service, ambiance--a true 50s diner
- Cons: only one of its kind
One of a kind landmark

Out of state friends were in for the holidays-wanted a true southern breakfast-where else? The Skillet!
In a world of franchises and hybrid chain restaurants, this place stands alone. Been in the same spot serving their great food and ambience since 1956. The owners know how NOT to chage things when they work--and man do they work. You've got to try this Atlanta landmark!! Highly recommend.
- Pros: food, service & atmosphere
- Cons: none

friends in from out of town wanted a taste of the south for breakfast---what better place than the skillet. Read all the great reviews-a couple of bad experiences tossed in but that's expected-everyone has an off day--this place is GREAT! In business for 51 years! Biscuits are outstanding-Country Ham is as they say-melt in your mouth. Friends had corn beef hash-never had it grilled before-loved it-eggs are actually cooked in a skillet not on a flat top grill as most places(hence the name of the place I guess). Service is the old fashioned kind-older southern waitresses with service as their motto. I WILL BE BACK!!
- Pros: service and food
- Cons: none
