i have been here several times, both on dates with my husband and with groups of friends. it is a very special dining experience. the service is impeccable. the food is decadent and clearly made with love and skill. yes the portions are small, but they are very rich, and i can never eat it all. in addition to the courses you order, they serve all sorts of little surprises between courses. the last time i was there, i jokingly asked the waiter if he was trying to hurt me by serving me all the food. he didn't get my joke, but i left feeling ill from all the butter. i think it's too rich for me!

  • Pros: special, decadent, romantic
  • Cons: don't feel well after so much rich food

I ate here last weekend and it does not disappoint. It is very pricey, for most of us a special occasion only meal, but worth every penny. The portions are small, but with all of the amuse bouche between each of the four courses, you will not go hungry. Mention if you are there for a birthday or anniversary, they will give you a little miniature cake which is just adorable.

The figs and parmesan with honey and balsamic was the best part of my meal, but by then I was almost too full to enjoy it

I will never understand why they moved from the previous, quaint location to this trendy industrial area but the food remains as one of Atlanta's best.

We had heard great things about this place but were greatly disappointed when we finally went to eat there. The wait staff was rude and snobby, they tried to rush us through out meal and when we complained we were told that the chef decides not the customer! We wrote a letter to complain about the service and were told that although they were sorry we felt we had a bad experience there was nothing they could do!

The experience was so bad that I cannot even remember the food!

This was one of my favorite restaurants before they move. The ambiance is sooo different. It used to be in a charming home and now it's a somewhat hard edge room with an adjacent store. But the food is still good and you wouldn't be disappointed.

The taste, the flavors, the fresh ingredients - not many chefs like these in this world. ( Not a metaphor.)

Flawless, unobtrusive service. Accurate, invisible help.

Interior is Swiss bank smart, clear, efficient.

Location - who cares.

Price - you get what you pay for. Value - the other way 'round.

We went here for our 5th wedding anniversary a few years back. I am just now writing a review because I have always read reviews when I am choosing a new restaurant, and they have been very helpful to me. I was taking my husband out, so we didn't discuss price before hand (I already knew what to expect). The food was very good and well prepared. My favorite was the crab cake fritters we had as appetizers (drizzled with an Asian source). You were really able to taste the freshness in each course, and the wait staff was outstanding. This restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and is great for couples looking for privacy. When the check came at the end of the evening, my husband was a little shocked but never said it wasn't worth it.

  • Pros: Definitely food and service
  • Cons: None

I spent way too much money for average food. The best thing I had there was pea soup (a gift from the chef!)

Save your money and palate.

  • Pros: manager was great
  • Cons: food, price, setting

i will most definitely coming back to this restaurant. The service was awesome, superb, flawless and so was the food. The chefs was unbelieveable, they make the MOST unimagineabe heavenly food ever. Sooo friggin' delicious.. I might sound a little too much here.. but seeing is believing. if u're in town and crazy for french cuisine (even if u're not crazy of french cuisine) u've totally got to try this place. i promise u wont get dissapointed. The place has a really good ambience too. Good for a little romantic dinner or a little business meeting. and i think the price is very reasonable for what u gonna get here. i dont even think its pricey at all. Overall my experience with Bacchanalia was 1000% satisfied.

  • Pros: Everything!!!
  • Cons: None

A memorable experience! I had the wine tasting menu and thought it was a bargain compared to the prices you see in NYC for similar style, and not necessarily as good, dining. The food was absolutely wonderful, fresh and presented beautifully; the staff was friendly and attentive; the wine choices were very enjoyable but "safe." The oysters topped with lemon sorbet and osetra were the absolute, over the top, best oyster preparation I've ever had. Fresh, icy cold, briny....the bomb!! The duck, the cheese course, the desert were almost equal. I adored all of the "gifts" that arrived at my table; a goat cheese gougere, a shooter of cold soup, light as a feather ricotta dumplings with shaved truffles (OMG!,) buttermilk pannacotta, cookies, chocolate. I dined alone and was made very comfortable; if you ever dine alone you know how weird and rushed the waitstaff can make you feel. For the naysayers who reviewed before me, clearly, you don't know fine dining so stick to Applebees. Bacchanalia is the ONLY reason I'll ever go back to Atlanta.

great service and fantastic, unpretentious food in a relaxed yet formal atmosphere. Bacchanalia is all about good ingredients made into something great worth eating. The only criterion being that everything tastes fabulously delicious and boy does it! Try it! Don't be put off as we nearly were - this restaurant is about showcasing food not people. A visit to Bacchanalia is a truly special and positively unforgettable experience, not to be missed. Go and enjoy!

  • Pros: Fabulous food, service and ambience. Star provisions is not to be missed either.
  • Cons: Plan ahead to book.
