Being Last Is Sometimes Best
by gregtreadway at Citysearch
For a while the Starlight was the last of the outside drive-in movie theaters, We generally get double features and it is just great. If you see the van a rockin...don't go a knockin. there have been some good changes at this theater since you were probably here last. Do yourself a favor and take the family when you go this weekend. This can be a really fun time.
Great place to go for a cheap date with alittle cash flow.

My wife and I visited the Starlight a few monthe ago for the first time. We had a great time and was just looking for something to do one night. Certainly we'll return again because we really had a great time there. The price is right and you get to watch first run movies.
- Pros: Great setup on car parking
- Cons: Didn't care for the food and popcorn.
Best drive-in

A night at Starlight is a great night of the latest and greatest movies at a great price! We love the fact that we can take the entire family with snacks or burgers and have a great time together.

9 years ago my husband and I had our first date at a drive-in in New Hampshire (we went to college in VT) Since that was a great memory I took him to the Starlight for an anniversary a couple years ago and it was the best date ever!! I packed all or our favortie snacks, and did not tell him where we were going until after dinner, it was a great time and we look forward to going again!!
- Pros: Cozy, fun, old school, CHEAP!!
- Cons: None
ABSOLUTELY THE BEST DRIVEIN MOVIE IN ATLANTA, maybe the world
by onesawb at Citysearch
The very first date I had with my wife of many years was at the Starlight, back Then there were several Driveins in Atlanta The Glenwood ,The Scott and the S expressway, the Bankhead, we've visited them all many times, The years have eliminated all but the best ,we still visit several times a year, this year is special because our grandson gets his drivers license and will be taking his girl friends to the Starlight. Somehow we've never managed to get to the Flea market I hope we get to check it out soon, If you haven't been you need to go soon.My wife just reminded me of two other driveins we visited years ago that no longer exist The Moonlit and the Hub driveins both were in covington. the fact that they are disapearing so fast is even more reason to support the one we have left.
LOVE this place

I went here on a double date with my boyfriend and our best friends. We had a BLAST since I suggested we pretend were were in that scene in the movie Grease. hahahahaha. The sound was great and the whole experience was cozy and full of nostalgia. My boyfriend and I came back, at my insistence, for the flea market. This has since become one of my FAVORITE hangouts in Atlanta.
Old school and so cool!!!

Started going here last year. Would highly recommend for a family outing or a romantic interlude. Have done both and enjoyed each the same. They have begun to make alot improvements to the theater and predict this to be the spot for the summer. Get their befor 7:30 to get a good spot. They serve popcorn, candy, smoothies, chickfala, hamburgers, hotdogs, and more. Facilities are clean. Check it out.
- Pros: price
- Cons: elements
An Atlanta classic with six screens, a weekly flea market and the ever-popular "Drive-Invasion" party.
by Contributor at Citysearch
The Scene
First-run flicks on six giant screens are the main attraction here, but this Atlanta institution goes well beyond movies. The drive-in has become a landmark, hosting a weekly flea market, special movie nights and the now famous annual Labor Day weekend "Drive-Invasion." This weekend-long party attracts the masses with a bill of B-movies, live bands and bikini-clad car washers. In summer months, picnics and large parties are welcome; during the winter months, car cuddling is recommended.
The Draw
The drive-in's six screens play double bills of mainstream flicks nightly. Drive up and tune in to your assigned radio frequency. The sound is as good as your car stereo, and the screen's big enough to see from anywhere on the hill. Waning daylight, headlights from latecomers and the social atmosphere can distract. But if you don't like what's playing on your screen, look out the rear window--you might be able to catch another show.
Great Place for Everyone!!!

This was my first time to a drive in, in a long time. I just thought this was so great! The people had their chairs and picnic baskets out and the kids were sitting around watching the movie. It was just great I would highly recommend this drive in to anyone who loves movies. I really enjoyed myself. I'm also going back this weekend.
Great!

Where else can you eat, drink, and even make out while watching a movie? And guess what, in case your date doesn't like the flick, just turn the car around and swith the radio channel!
- Pros: Privacy, Atmosphere
- Cons: Bad reception, Early closing time
