Good drinks, mediocre and forgetful service, too busy
by sttarlite at Citysearch
I've been to Cafe Intermezzo a few times, and it is always a madhouse. Still, we were seated within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the table was right next to the dessert cases. We had people's backsides in our faces the entire time we were there. It took our server a while to finally take our orders, but they came out pretty quickly. DH got a coffee liquor drink, which he liked. I had a good, fruity decaf tea. The portions of the drinks are generous. We ordered two pieces of cake, which we never got. Thankfully, we were not charged for them. As we were full from dinner, we chose not to pursue getting them. We won't be back anytime soon.
- Pros: Good drinks
- Cons: Slow service, bad tables, too crowded

Cafe intermezzo, umm umm delicious... A friend of mine reccomended the cafe to me He absolutly loved it
while he attended college down south he would visit the cafe daily. My friends know how critical I can be when it comes to tasting coffee. So when J.. kept metioning how wonderful the coffee is and service including the food rated four ****.. I personnaly had to come down and visit and see what all the fuss was about. I loved every minute of my visit to Cafe Intermezzo will come visit next time in town..yours truly Veli..

Best desserts in Atlanta!

Love this place..Great atmosphere and fantastic service...Great first date place to start it up or wind it down to the end.
- Pros: Dessert and coffee selections as well as the atmosphere
- Cons: calories you get from going here too often
nice ambience but a little overpriced for the quality
by larrydoong at Citysearch
okay, this is a decent dessert place - dim lighting and cozy seating make for a good date atmosphere...maybe I'm a little frugal, but at $7.50 per slice, you would expect the dessert to be better than just "decent."
- Pros: nice date atmosphere, good service
- Cons: dessert not as good as expected
used to be a lot better

I have been going to Intermezzo for years but lately the palce is really going downhill. The service is soooo bad, the place has gotten so dirty that I am uncomfortable eating anything from the kitchen. The desserts and coffee are still good, but I don't know how much longer I will continue to go there. Do you see how dirty the menus are??????
- Pros: dessert, coffee, varity
- Cons: dirty, service, quality
Dessert fan disappointed by Staff
by piano55 at Citysearch
I am a whole-hearted dessert fan- and I believe Cafe Intermezzo is one of the few places to go to in Atlanta for a great selection and taste of desserts. Unfortunately, their staff disappoints in service. Once, my husband and I were seated promptly but had to wait 20-30 minutes for a server. The server never came and when we asked for one, the hostess asked us if we wanted to leave (did not even apologize). Last week, we went there and again, 20 minutes and no server. We left without ordering dessert. If only their service was better, they'd get more business.
- Pros: Dessert
- Cons: Service, Unknowledgeable staff, loud dining
First Date
by honeechild1972 at Citysearch
CI was a pleasant surprise. Perfect for a first date. CI was not too pricey and the ambience was sexy. Personally I have yet to find any restaurant in Atlanta where I was just floored by the food but CI was decent. Besides, there are not many places to choose from after hours in Atlanta aside from Waffle House and IHOP.
- Pros: atmosphere, decent prices
- Cons: parking, croweded
ambience blows away food
by salome3478 at Citysearch
definitely go there for the convenient hours of operation, and for the ambience. however, the desserts have a frozen, pre-made taste, rather than homemade. it's more of a night/weekend hotspot than a culinary treasure. but with plenty of spirits and other drink selections, it's still possible to have a great evening.
- Pros: atmosphere, drinks
- Cons: desserts, possible wait time
where snooty meets pricey

If you can figure out how to get around behind the restaurant and park, you're in good shape.
The outdoor patio is beautiful, even thought the $5. plastic chairs leave something to be desired.
The attitude of the managers is horrible. Our waiter was yelled at in front of several tables of customers for a minor offence (he was turning on the overhead heater for a Grandma that was cold)
The dessert case is the saving grace for this overpriced location that's packed with more attitude than charm.
- Pros: Desserts, Patio
- Cons: Attitude, Prices, Parking
