Ok

I went this past weekend with my girlfriend based upon recommendations from friends. Being a chef, I am overtly critical of food and service and I will have to agree with some of the points of other reviewers. We ordered a watermelon salad(small but tasty), a small caesar(small, bottled dressing it seemed, no croutons, no parm), a shrimp scampi crepe (elastic crepe, obviously bought in, rubber shrimp, no seasoning...saying that, put salt and pepper on the table so I don't have to offend by asking for it), two cocktails(decent, but did I just pay for a bottle of that champagne?), a spanish coffee(excellent), and a cheesecake(good, but homemade? noooo.) Bill comes, I cough. Expensive. I've eaten better for less. We went early, service was good. Next day we stopped in for an after-movie drink. Sat at the bar and heard way too much from the servers up front(what'd you eat today, wanna play, haha, your mom, etc..) Not professional at all. My girlfriend ordered the same drink but different taste--I noticed the bartender pull out the same opened bottle of champagne(most likely from the night before..but didn't we already pay for that). Regardless, good company excuses a lot, so if you want decent drinks, get your friends together and try it, just don't look at the bill.
- Pros: Nice space, nice selection of spirits
- Cons: Price is unreasonable for the result
CRITTERS!!!
by BreeLove at Citysearch
Usually I have the spicy tortellini and a slice cake after long night at work. I usually have a good time. The last time I went there, it took forever, on this non-busy night, for someone to serve me my bottled water. It took even longer for someone to take my entree order. so, while I'm waiting for someone to serve me, I notice something moving across the floor. I tried not to look because i did not want my night ruined even more than it already had been. I just had to look once again and it was a rather LARGE INSECT walking across the floor, Not only did a waitress see it, she stepped over it like there was nothing there. GROSS!!!!!!!!!! So i got up and left, but before I left the hostess asked why I was leaving so early and I told her there was a CRITTER walking across the floor. Nobody seemed to care... It's a shame.
- Pros: GREAT DESSERT
- Cons: CRITTERS...
Great Pasta, Drinks, Desserts, and las Cocorachas

I have always been a big fan of Intermezzo until today. My mother was visiting from out of town and I wanted to take her to my (once) favorite spot. Before arriving to the restaurant I told my girlfriend that I was taking my mom to Intermezzo and she casually responded " hopefully you don't see another el Cocoracha". I laughed it off, though I did remember the last time we were there and we saw el Cocoracha. Needless to say after being there for only 15 minutes, I saw El Cocoracha in true form!! I immediately cancelled my order and asked to speak to management however what was most upsetting to me was that the manager tried to inconspicuosly step on el Cocoracha without letting the patron, whose feet el Cocoracha was hanging out next to, that she had unwanted company near her feet. Cafe Intermezzo please get your act together!!!
good food, bad service

If you like taking chances on your first date then this is the place for you. You will have plenty of time to find out everything about your date before you ever see your server. Servers will have a bad attitude, they are slow and unfriendly. Food is OK but not worth the wait. Bottom line, it's mediocre and that's being generous.
- Pros: Good desserts, heated patio, diverse crowd
- Cons: poor service, no service, unfriendly
Overpriced, bad coffee, bad service

A very small 8oz coffee will cost you about $4. Service is extremely slow. It took about 20 minutes just to get some coffee. The waiters aren't very attentive and you'll spend about an hour there for 10 minutes worth of coffee because they take forever to bring you the bill. The coffee itself isn't that good. It doesn't taste fresh, and the espresso was of the same quality that I get from my $40 espresso maker at home, also by the time I was served the coffee was no longer hot. For some strange reason, it costs $1 more to get your drink iced.
- Pros: Trendy, Open Late, Passes Time
- Cons: Slow Service, Bad Coffee, Expensive
If You Like Mediocrity With Ambiance
by gsugirl at Citysearch
This is the spot for you. I have frequented Cafe Intermezzo on Peachtree for over five years now due to the fact that my friends love their coffees. I dread going each time due to the AWFUL service and overpriced mediocre dinner menu.
I've experienced
-Being seated by a prompt host only to have to wait no less than 10-15 min for a server to acknowledge my party
-Server arriving at the table and simply staring at my party without any introduction or offer for drinks
-Server not attending to my party other than to deliver food
-Dinner plates arriving cold
-Server not being able to pronounce the coffees offered let alone describe them
The young wait staff seems to enjoy flirting with each other more than working..
What makes a good resteraunt experience is not simply pretty mood lighting and attractive people; Intermezzo does not deliver. Thumbs down.
- Pros: The Cheese Kari Kari, Decor
- Cons: SERVICE, FOOD
Service Not Up to Par

Once seated (group of 6), it took awhile for the waiter to appear. It took even longer for the food to arrive. However, the waiter did inform us that two dishes were still being prepared. He then preceded to bring all but one dish out. Later, a waitress finally comes places a tray on "our" table and then rudely interrupts conversation to have us pass her our plates. After having to flag down our waiter, we were told that we had to go to the front of the restaurant and select our desserts. The ambience leaves much to be desired. We expressed our concerns to the manager, who appeared nonchalant. Our waiter acted as if he was doing us a favor by waiting on us. I will NEVER return and I will hope that you do not, especially in a group!

Horrible experience. We were sent to the patio with the advice that there wouldn't be much smoke as it was still pretty empty. We were surrounded by smoke. We waited 15 minutes for the waiter to even acknowledge us. The waiter was not knowledgeable about the drink menu. Our waiters were switched. Our food took more than 30 minutes to arriveand another 10 minutes for the 6th meal. The dinner plates were very small. All the waiters were rude. We had to ask for dessert. At the end we asked to speak to the manager who didn't even address all of our concerns. They don't tell you about a gratuity on parties of 6 or more. Needless to say when we finally left 2.5 hours later none of us had enjoyed our evening. If you want great cheesecake go to a restaurant that has cheesecake in the name.
- Pros: dessert
- Cons: , noisy
Good dessert, bad service, too expenisve
by gtrotter4 at Citysearch
First off, me and my friend were seated and our server took at least 15 min to even recognize we were there. When we finally ordered our food was actually pretty good. The check was through the roof for what we got. The atmosphere was nice, but I felt really out of place. Way too ritsy for what it is. If you've got the cash and the time to waste go ahead and go, if not, dont waste your time.
- Pros: parking, dessert
- Cons: price, service, attitude
