I was at the imperial fez last night with a group of 4. We were all ordering drinks and were going to order various things on the menu. However, we were told that everyone had to order an entre. If we didn't want an entre we had to pay $25 per person to sit there. There were only 4 other people there?? no lines to get in??? the appetizer I was going to order was $10, the glass of wine i had was $9. That is a total of $19. By doing simple math that is more than a $16 entre???? Are you in a money laundering business or a restaurant business? Because with this economy no customer is worse than NO customer. The person I was with owns two restaurants in the atlanta area and would never turn away a paying customer. I don't know why they have an a la carte menu if you are only allowed to order entres. The food must not be very good if you have to force someone to order it. The restaurant didnt even have change for a $100 bill? The waitress has to run across the street to get change. Luckily our shoes were still there when we left! I guess they cant rob you of everything. I would be soo ashamed to work there.I am always leary of places that include the tip. Thats a good sign that things are not good.

  • Pros: something different
  • Cons: business practices, money, service

One of my hobbies for the past thirty-something years has been to learn about and experience foods from different parts of the world so I have eaten at many ethnic eateries during that time. I am well acquainted with a number of different cuisines including Lebanese, Persian, Hebrew (Kosher), Greek, Southern Indian, Pakistani, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Chinese (Mongolian, Szechwan and Cantonese), Spanish, Italian, French, German, Mexican, Tex-Mex, Lowcountry Southern, Cajun, etc. However, I would have to say that the five course meal I ate at Imperial Fez was absolutely the BEST food I have ever eaten in my life!

The staff was very friendly and accomodating and made me feel more like I was an honored guest being entertained in their home rather than a patron at a commercial establishment. The carpets, tapestries and pillows gave the room a plush, comfortable, relaxed feeling and after settling in for a few minutes, it was hard to believe I was actually in Atlanta. I felt like I was dining in a Sultan's tent in some exotic, faraway desert. By the end of the evening, I fully expected to see camels instead of cars when I stepped outside.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I heard that there would be belly dancing; however, The belly dancers were attractive and charming and delivered a tasteful, entertaining performance. The dancing was definitely sensual and beautiful, but there was nothing lewd or overly suggestive about it.

The Imperial Fez is not the place to go for a quick bite to eat! I had planned to go out clubbing afterward, but I ended up having such a great time that I didn't want to leave! I ended up spending four hours of total bliss at the Fez that night and enjoyed it much more than I would have if I had stuck to my original agenda for the evening. I was sorry when it was time to go; however, I will definitely return for an encore!

  • Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere, Entertainment!
  • Cons: Prices

I have been to the Imperial Fez on numerous occassions over the past years, and have never been disappointed by the food and atmosphere. I do not know many restaurants where the chef & owner makes a real effort to meet as many guests personally as possible. But at the Imperial Fez both Rita & Rafih (owners) are extremely accessible and always eager to make everyone's dining experience a special occassion.

If you love an eating-adventure then this is your restaurant! The layering of exotic spices and aromas, as well as the fun presentation of the food, really make this a unique eating venue.

When I want to impress family members & friends, as well as colleagues when they come to visit Atlanta I always bring them to the Fez.

I have tried most of the dishes on the menue, but have to say that the Moroccan Lentil Soup, the Moroccan salads, and the B'stella appetizer (w/ Cornish Hen, almonds, honey all wrapped in a flakey crust) are my favorite! Top that off w/ the delicious Moroccan Mint Tea and I'm in heaven!

I'M still an employee of the imperial fez!!!

And it's with great pride that I'm sharing my experiences at the Imperial fez with you.

For most of you, it's about dinning for special occasions, change, discovering something new, impressing someone or even just celebrating life.

But what you don't know is: What is imperial fez anyway? The question seems simple. But the truth is, it?s just not that easy to answer.I can tell you that since we opened our doors in Atlanta, Georgia in 1991. Fez?s Delicatessen has become one of the city's leading restaurant in it's own right. With an emphasis on education, flavor, tradition and integrity of ingredients, we?ve worked to create a living, breathing, active culinary laboratory where one can experience everything from lamb couscous, to hand-picked preserved lemons, to hand made bread and pretty much everything in between. And in the process we?ve gained a reputation for sourcing unique, full flavored, traditionally made foodstuffs prepared from the heart of it's founders.

Who are serving your food at the Imperial Fez?

In most restaurants, you are being serve by young adults who are seeking ways to make fast money to get on with their lives. But at IMPERIAL FEZ, our guests are taken on an exotic journey, you are invited to dine as you would be by family, friends or neighbors. The hosts are educated individuals who speak several different languages for the most part and who take their guests well-being whole heartedly.

Most hosts at the Imperial Fez are corporate employees or college students, yet they still take great pride in their work. Mainly because it's not about the money or the title, but about working in loving and caring environment...just like home! It's about being part of something unique and bigger than the ordinary. IT'S about working with the coolest little company in America!!!

I CAN GO ON FOR DAYS AND YEARS, but I'm sure you don't have that kind of time. So come see us and see for yourself.

Me and my girlfriend went as a first time visit. The atmosphere was different but nothing spectacular, the furniture and interior of the building looked cheap and the rugs and pillows looked like they were dusty and needed to be cleaned.

We were seated by our waitress who made a few comments to us that were completely unprofessional and rude. She then took 15 minutes before taking our orders for food. My girlfriend asked for silverware to eat one of the dishes and the waitress lied and said that they didn't have any. She really just didn't want to bring any out because she did concede that they do bring out silverware for the desert and my girlfriend had to ask instantly again for her to bring out silverware for this particular dish. It seemed more like we had someone who wanted to contend with us and be difficult rather than wait on us. She had an attitude and didn't smile the whole time. I expected better.

The food itself was just so so, again nothing special that would leave an impression or make me want to go back. The entertainment was a belly dancer who came out twice and who looked more like a tattooed stripper.

I wanted to reflect the poor service to our waitress with the tip I was going to give her but the tips are automatically factored into the bill (no wonder they don't' have servers with motivation or incentive to serve well) so I didn't get a chance to. The bill came out to $110 for 2 people, I found out on the way home that the waitress overcharged my credit card by $18 which I had to call the next day to complain about. When I called to complain I told the manager about the waitress and the poor service we received and he insisted he would get to the bottom of it and call me back. Its been over a week and I still haven't received a call back from him.

Based on what I paid for and was expecting I was let down and cannot recommend this place to any of my friends.

  • Pros: if you like belly dancers that look like hot strippers
  • Cons: over priced and over charged credit card

I came to the Imperial Fez Friday night for my birthday. I tell this place blew me away; it was like I walked into a whole new world. I found the price very reasonable starting at $25 and up for a five course meal. The service was like clockwork everything from the soup to the dessert was timed perfectly. The food was superb and totally worth it. The best part was the belly dancer she was stunning and demonstrated a few moves belly dancing for me that was cool most dancers don't do that. I also was told they have belly dancing lessons on Saturday mornings how cool is that. I was even visited by the owner she asked us how were doing and even talked to us about her home county (Morocco) it sounded so gorgeous and remarkable. I now want to go there sometime and have the full Moroccan cultural experience. After dinner I went to the shop were they have the most beautiful stuff form coin belt hip scarf?s, jewelry form morocco, to tradition clothing that I was impress with the young gentlemen that welcomed us to the shop and offer his assistance if needed, I wanted to buy almost everything in that cute little shop, however, I just bought an outfit, shoes, and some jewelry that were sold at very reasonable prices as well. I now just want to Thank the staff and the owners at the impearl fez for giving me the best birthday ever. I will come back with some more of my family and friends very soon so they can experience too.

Thanks again,

Evian D. York

The thing I have most against this restaurant is the pricing. It seems very expensive for what you get. But the ambiance is very Moroccan and if you enjoy belly dancers, this is the place for you.

I learned about this place when I accidently parked here when going to Sunny's. It was expensive cuisine in a really nice environment. The lamb is amazing and succulent. I have since become a fan of Ibiza next door since it is more affordable and features some highlights from Imperial Fez at a better price.
