Living around the corner, I have visited this place a few times. The food is decent. However, the service is not so good. Last visit, our order was taken and food came about 15 min served by someone out of the kitchen. Not sure, where our waiter was, because we hadn't received our drinks yet. Tonight we arrived around 6:30 PM, there was around 8-9 tables of customers. The host seated us at the back of the restaurant behind the sushi bar when there were plenty of seats open. After about 15 min of no service, we made contact with the waiters...no order yet. The host peeked back around the corner, so we waited about 5 more minutes hoping he would find someone for us. No such luck . We finally decided after 20 minutes to leave. As we walked toward the door, the 2 hosts turned and started talking to each other and completed ignored us as we walked out the door. I have never been treated so rude.

Pros: Good location.

Cons: Poor service. Rude host and hostest.

This restaurant is a joke. Unless you are treasuring generic high-tech interiors, high attitude of personal and drag shows more then your food you should not even consider visiting. This is a good example of what trendy is and good is not.

Pros: Generic/familiar Japanese cuisine for novice

Cons: Rather sloppy and high attitude service + Generic/familiar Japanese cuisine for novice

Don't go there. The "complimentary" valet is a rip-off. After spending $100 at the restaurant, I walked across the street for about 10 minutes. When I returned, the valet guys intimidated me into paying $10 dollars before they would give me my car. They threatened to call the police if I didn't pay. They did this AFTER I had already given them their tip. What a lousy way to treat a long-term loyal customer that has given that business hundreds of dollars over the years. I will never go there again after such a miserable experience.

We love this Sushi place and the restaurant itself is really cool looking. It is the tipical midtown crowd after all!! The sushi is always fresh and the service is generally impecable (although we have had not super friendly waiters in a couple of ocassions).

Pros: Great sushi

Cons: It could be a little loud

The restaurant is cool but he sushi is a little weird. It's like they tried too hard to jazz it up and I like more of the traditional sushi rolls. Not recommended for the sushi purist.

Nikimogo's is a really nice restaurant. It looks good and atomosphere is awsome. However, as for sushi (I dont know about other menus), the restaurant is below average. Not only the portion is ridiculously small and it is over priced, sushi at nikimoto's is not authenic. As an native japanese and someone who used to work at a sushi place, I know that sushi chefs there are not experienced at all. So, if you want to grab some americanized suhsi at a fashionable place, it is a good place to go but if you really enjoy sushi, not recommended.

Pros: sushi, price

Cons: atomosphere, service

The sushi is awesome. Try the dragon roll and Yami Yami roll. Those are the best. The fried rice is also great.

Fantastic! This is one of the few restaurants that has resisted the trend in jacking up the prices. There is always something going on inside, and the outdoor patio is well dressed. I love the catfish..best cooked fish in the city! The sushi is not high-end, but is still fresh and well-priced. The service is great...friendly and fun. PS...strongest drinks I've ever been served.

Pros: service, prices, drinks

Cons: parking

This is one of the only places I go where I always get the same thing. The Yami Yami Roll is my favorite sushi roll ever. The crab rangoons are excellent too. Service can be a little slow- the last 2 times I've been we waited over 10 minutes before even being greeted by our server. Although when they finally do show up service is always friendly.

Pros: ambience, food

Cons: slow service

On our last visit, we waited 35-40 minutes for a booth. We were offered sushi bar seats, but declined due to the noise and long waits there. We got a booth and were greeted by a rude server. Our attention soon shifted to the next booth and the SHRIEKING child occupying. The noise continued and I asked our server if the manager would mind asking the parents to be considerate of other diners. She came back, saying the manager had replied that we could 'go to the sushi bar.' I ended up with a headache and didn't enjoy my meal, which was lackluster at best. We spoke with the manager, who said she knew the couple with the child & they'd been coming for years longer than us, and stated the opinion that we had a problem, and not vice versa.

Cons: noisy, long waits, horrible parking

The enforced valet parking here is nightmarish. We didn't tell you, but park somewhere on Piedmont and walk over.
