I've been a longtime customer of Bellsouth's Internet service, and I like its utter lack of bells and whistles. I don't want or need some contrived, AOL-like sense of faux "community" --I just want a good connection and a lack of distractions, and on that score Bellsouth delivers. Haven't had too many problems with the phone service either, at least not enough to consider jumping ship to one of the newer, post-deregulation outfits. I'll admit it--I'm more comfortable with a big corporation's 24-hour customer service, even if it means some ridiculously long wait times now and then.
