great starter bar

We entered the bar, and ordered 2 drinks, I had A long Isalnd Icetea, and my boyfriend had a Bud light beer in a bottle. The bartender asked if it was out first time there, and we said yes. So he called us virgins to the bar, and offered us a shot, he had suggested a shot called Dirty Money Butt, and it was good. I then was waiting for the total of the two drinks, I pulled out a Twenty dollar bill jokingly telling my boyfriend I hope this is enough money. So I asked what the damage was and to my suprise he told me $7.50 At that time we intruduced ourselves and was informed of the drag show that was going to start in a few minutes. This was the first bar that we went to so we figured what the heck. There were two regular performers and a special guest. All three were entertaining, was a little disapointed in the rest of the customers reaction to the performers. Back in Wisconsin if you don't clap for the performers you are setting yourself up for harrasment through out the show. As time went on everybody got involved in the show. The show was short and sweet everbody went on when supposed to, no long delays. They finished up just after midnight. I think this is a great bar for anybody that is new in town and wants that feeling of home. Definetly a place that we will be back to.
- Pros: great drink prices, friendly staff
- Cons: hard to find unless you know the area or have a tom tom
It's not the Porsche of bars, but is is a good place to practice your karaoke routine.

The Scene
This tavern on the seedier side of Ponce is all bar in a small space. A hodgepodge of young and old ball-cap-wearing regulars prop up the bar and belt out tunes. There's not much atmosphere here, so your best plan of attack is to pick a song and order a drink. You can always slip out the back door if the music gets too loud or if there's trouble from the natives who wander in from the parking lot.
The Draw
"Don't rain on my parade" sing the regulars at this ragtag but completely down-to-earth drinking hole that proves that there is a place in Atlanta's gay nightlife for everyone. Order an American beer, chalk up a pool cue or hold your own on one of the padded bar chairs. For those nights when your flaunt falls flat, and a baseball cap, blue jeans and some off-pitch show tunes set the tone, head to this place.
