Fun evening out
by Bananas2531 at Citysearch
My fiance and I usually come here if we feel like dancing some merengue, salsa and bachata. So we usually don't make it for the food beforehand, but for the party afterwards. We always have a good time there. It can get really hot and crowded, but it's better than empty!
- Pros: Great music and dancing, drink prices aren't bad
- Cons: Can be very crowded
Really Bad Business

After my second experience with Loca Luna during which, they changed a promotion after advertising it, I felt I had to share this with the public.
I have a large group of friends and we frequent venues such as Loca Luna often because of their ability to sit large parties on the patio. We were going to visit for a friend's birthday on Cinco de Mayo and after advertising one price, when we got to the door, they were charging double that.
A similar incident happened today. I made reservations last week after seeing an email that said "All you can eat and drink for $25 on Tuesdays." I also confirmed it with their OFFICIAL WEBSITE. When the person at Loca Luna called me to confirm on Sunday, I asked her if the promotion was still in effect and she said, "Most definitely." My reservation was for 7:00 for ten people. At 4:03, someone from the restaurant called to tell me they would not be able to honor the promotion. I pulled up the website and told him that it clearly said on their website that Tuesday nights were "all you can eat and drink for $25." He said he knew that, but they were not honoring it.
Not only that, but the guy was rude and blaming it on "promotions." How is that Promotions fault?
I could understand if it happened once, but it happened the only two times I tried to take advantage of a promotion at Loca Luna and I will NEVER visit the establishment again. Integrity isn't something you dabble in, Loca Luna. And obviously you don't have it.
- Cons: False Advertisements
Great food, atmosphere, and music

My girlfriends and I went out for my birthday and this was a perfect place to go with a group. While sitting on the patio, we shared a bunch of different items such as the goat cheese, plantains with coconut milk, ceviche, chicken kabobs, and not to forget the fish tacos. They were all EXCELLENT!! (The fish tacos had fantastic flavors with a great kick!) Our waiter was very helpful and was always there to take our on going orders. Definitely a place to enjoy with friends while taking in the music from the band. We will be going back in the near future! Good job, Loca Luna!!
- Pros: perfect portion sizes
- Cons: Some of the drinks could be better
Hollwood comes to Loca Luna!

What an unsuspecting surprise to venture out for tapas and drinks only to find yourself in the middle of a Hollywood Who's Who at Loca Luna! A couple of my friends and I headed to Loca last Friday night for dinner and drinks. Once inside we realized Loca was hosting a party for Bill Murray, Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek and the entire cast and crew of the upcoming movie Down Low which had just finished filming in Atlanta on Friday. It was quite surreal to look over at the band and see Bill Murray playing the bongos! Of course the Wrap Party (as it was called) had its own section of the restaurant (the main dance area and patio) for a few hours in the early evening but around 9pm the VIP ropes were removed and the party was opened to everyone.
I can say the celebs were more than happy to take photos and dance the night away with us regular folks!
Another great night at Loca! The sangria and mojito's were perfectly poured and our tapas were great - I am partial to the Golden Beet Lollipops, the Yellowfin Tuna Ceviche, the Balsamic Ribs, the fried Manchego with Quince Paste, the Fried Plantains, the Tacos de Pollo, the Calamari, the Lobster Bisque Shots and their Mussels. Oh and the sauteed spinach and mac and cheese are great, too!
As for previous posts about Loca being closed, that's just not true. They are open Tuesday through Sunday. If you haven't been to Loca Luna since the days of their old location on 6th street, I highly recommend you check them out at the new spot at Amsterdam Walk. The patio is AWESOME in spring!
- Pros: Yellowfin Tuna Ceviche, Tacos de Pollo, Fried Manchego - YUM!!!
- Cons: None for me!
Business must be closed!!!

We went there twice, once on Monday and the door said closed on Monday. Went the next Tuesday and it was still closed. It would have been nice to update the notes on the door or the voicemail to read closed.
Loca Luna as great as EVER!

To date we have never had a dish that we have not loved. We do not go there for the nightlife. We go with friends for the food. I have read many reviews about the nightlife... someday we will have to stick around later in the evening to experience what others are raving about. FAV TAPAS: Fish Tacos, Calamari, Ceviches & Ribs that melt off the bone.
- Pros: Best Tapas in TOWN!
- Cons: Waited a little while for drinks to be refilled
Not What it Used to Be

I went to LL on Friday with a group of friends. It was not my first time so I pretty much knew what to expect- average food, decent drinks, good music and tons of people. Well, the music was good and that's about it. The food is still average and so were the drinks. There definitely weren't the same crowds as in the past so it seems as if people are heading elsewhere for their Friday nights.
The worst part of the evening was the service. We had a group of about 10 people. Our server, Donnie, started out fine taking orders and getting us our drinks. That quickly ended, and Donnie was no where to be found. The last time I saw him, he took our water pitcher and disappeared. The water was never brought baack out, plates were never cleared and we were never offered the opportunity to order more drinks. We were there TO DRINK so this was really disappointing. By the time he finally made another appearance my buzz had started to wear off and I figured ordering another drink was pointless.
I guess he figured that since we were a party of ten and he was guaranteed a 20 percent tip, he didn't owe us anything. Well he is the one that lost out because he would have received 20 percent of every extra drink we ordered.
I doubt I will ever go to or recommend loca luna again. There are far too many places in the area where my group of girls and I can go for good food, fun and most importantly SERVICE.
- Pros: Live music is good and you can always dance
- Cons: Horrible service if you have more than 4 people in your party
Loca Luna is a Blast!

I love the music and dancing at Loca Luna.
I also like that you can walk into the outdoor
area and it is not so loud that you cannot
talk. A great place for a night out!
- Pros: Always a good time!
- Cons: Far to drive from Canton
THEY NEED AIR CONDITIONING!!!
by Angeezy at Citysearch
What a great club to go out dancing. Only problem is, they keep all the doors shut and there's NO AIR in that place. As crowded as it is, that's ridiculous and I think it's going to cause them to lose a lot of business. Other than that, it's a very fun club!
Their Cocktails Are Not Professionally Mixed

Loca Luna has a large facility including a long bar side, mobile tables and slim chairs indoors and outdoors that can be put away or moved easily to accomodate more space. There is a dance floor area next to a live band stage; giving an overall pleasant of a so called latin tropical experience. As for the drinks I warn you about the cost and taste. I paid 8.50 for a horrible tasteless Long Island Ice Tea cocktail and some new friends bought a pitcher of Saint Gria for 25.00 that tasted like ice water with a tint of grapey winey fruits. My goodness I have trouble paying my gas, fix me a real drink!! If you enjoy the tastes of drinks with satisfication don't ask for one here, because you will be embarrased how this bartender mixes a drink. My advice is don't go if you want to get ripped by someone making a killing off tabs that has no right making an expensive cocktail.
