I had the pleasure of dining at your restuarant Friday. Our server Trent totally ROCKED! Definitely let him know he made the dining experience all the better. The beers were great, the steaks were awesome...I will definitely be back!!!

I frequent the downtown restaurants as I work and live in the area. Max Lagers always provides a solid answer to my hunger. Yesterday I was in for the first time since the holidays and they had an awesome fish soft taco made with mahi mahi. I couldn't finish it all, it was massive and was really, really good. It was a special and I am writing this review to let them know to put it on the menu permanently!!! thanks guys for doing a great job. See you very soon!

I go to Max Lager's every time I am in town for the mart .
I love the Texan steak and the Max Black Beer.
I happen to have been there on Sunday night and I can say that it was extremely busy.
I have met the manager Bill several times and he has always made time time to spend a moment talking to me.He and his staff do a wonderful job everytime I am In the restaurant.
Rena, does a great job at the bar and I always feel welcome, No matter who is working.
I am always asked when I turn in my reciepts why I go to the same place everynight to eat?
They have great food, good beer and Great people.
Everyone and place has a bad day, it seems folks always take time to write the bad review, yet have little time to give a good one.
I myself have been to the restaurant more than once and rarely do I see them fail.
Thank you and keep up the good work.
- Pros: Great Steaks and beer

Thank you for your comments! We believe we do offer great food and great service, but there are sometimes those unforeseen hiccups. All the best....

UNBELIEVABLE! How can a restaurant run out of 75% of its menu items??!!! No pizza, no pasta, no fish, no ribs. NO PIZZA! Granted, it was 9pm on a Sunday night (we waited for an hour and a half even though we called ahead; and during that time, no one mentioned that the kitchen had been all but wiped out), but you're in the downtown area of a major convention city... You have to be prepared for big crowds, right? Guess not. Most of the servers did their best under the circumstances, but the manager - when we complained about the situation - was kind of rude: "What do you want me to do about it?" Oh, and one person at our table ordered the Bison Burger & another ordered a regular hamburger... they said they tasted exactly the same. And yes, the beers were flat.

The evening you came was truly busier than expected as was clear by our menu offerings. We prepare everything fresh from scratch, and by late Sunday evening, we were down in inventory. Our apologies for the circumstances and your frustration. However, we do feel blessed that our business is up substantially over last year, in a down the economy. And please know that we have made adjustments going forward! Please try us again.
Nothing available on the menu.

I went to there with 10 work colleagues from both New York and Chicago. We waited 90 minutes, although we had reservations and drank the beer that was agreed by all to be flat. This place was out everything - pizza dough, so no pizza, no pasta primavera, no salmon, no ribs, no guacamole for quesadillas, no sirloin steak, and I'm sure there were others. What a disappointment because we went there for the wood fired pizza touted by their logo and slogan. I would NEVER go back there again, sorry.

I know you had a large group in, and we received another comment from your colleague related to late Sunday evening. Our apologies for your frustration and the circumstances. This was a highly unusual situation, which we have dealt with going forward.
Not Bad, But Not Impressed

I had a steak dinner, and a friend had salmon in early January, 2009 while in Atlanta for training. The atmosphere was okay, but the meal was unimpressive. The food reminded me of a small eatery in any small town you might run across: it was palatable. However, given the many great choices in downtown Atlanta, I can't recommend this one.
- Pros: Atmosphere
- Cons: Food, service

This brew pub is a great place to meet some friends and sit at the bar enjoying beers. The beer brewed in house is good and they are many kinds to choose from. Great atmosphere and location.
So much fun!

My husband and I love this place. It is one of Atlanta's best kept secrets! If you are looking for a fun time at dinner or a great movie watching experience this place has it all.

Great Place to meet Friends

I have been coming to Max intermittently for many years and I would probably best categorize it as "upscale comfort food." The decor and frankly, most of the menu, are pretty forgettable, but for me, it's all about the service.
Every time we come here it feels like going to visit a friend. All the wait staff knows us and they are always accommodating - not JUST to us, but I see it with everyone they serve.
Great place to meet friends, but I wouldn't really recommend it for a date restaurant because, well - REALLY, it's a neighborhood joint. If my date was that cheap, then there 'aint gonna BE a second date, y'know what I'm sayin'?
Oh yeah, and I'm also rating this place high for the fact that every time I eat here I get so incredibly stuffed I feel like a cow when leaving, yet miraculously wake up the next morning feeling as skinny as a supermodel. Coincidence? I think not.
- Pros: serviceifood

Look, I go to Max Lagers at least once a week because I work downtown and would consider it one of my favorite places to go around Downtown Atlanta. Maybe this guy's server was just having a bad day, but as often as I go, the service has been consistently good and the food is very good. I usually sit up at the bar for lunch, but my coworkers and I have gone to Max Lagers for happy hour too because they have great beers and the food is good. I hate bad service just as much as anyone else, and wouldn't go to Max Lager's as often as I do if the service wasn't consistently good. Judge it for yourself, but coming from a regular, I love this place.
- Pros: Convenient to Downtown, great food & drink, cool happy hour spot
- Cons: Parking
