What users are saying:
Downtown super hotel in the right neighborhood at the right price.

The Building
The facade of the Renaissance Hotel doesn't much resemble the architecture of the golden age for which it's named. The entire western exposure is a windowless monolith reminiscent of an armory, and the southern and northern sides are generally unadorned. The hotel provides all the typical amenities--nice lobby, generous swimming pool, spacious rooms--but no extraordinary or unique luxuries await the visitor here.
The Locale
Just west of downtown Atlanta, the Renaissance offers visitors walking-distance proximity to the Fox Theatre, the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park and the Macy's flagship store. The Renaissance may not be fabulous, but that's all right. It positions itself as the more affordable of the downtown super hotels, and seems perfectly content to offer its clientele a comfortable, central hub from which to travel the city.
Just sleep outside instead

I stayed at the Renaissance while attending a 4 day conference. It was simply horrible. The ceiling in the bathroom was peeling. The telephone for concierge services did not work and you had to call the front desk for local telephone numbers because the phonebooks were two years old. I had to wait on several occasions for at least 10 minutes for help from the front desk when calling. I had a non-smoking room and was awakened at 2:00 am by the strongest smell from cigarettes and wasn't able to go back to sleep. The hotel was very noisy. The front desk is unprofessional and rude. The cleanliness is less than desireable. Don't stay her sleep outside instead its just as noisy and smelly.
