You get what you pay for

Candler park is an OK course, it is super cheap, and the 9 hole course is just OK. The greens aren't maintained and the grass is shaggy. There are a lot of people who don't usually play, so watch out.
Candler Park: Slummin' but fun
by MPG
Candler Park is a super cheap 9 hole course that isn't the most well-kept or the most challenging but is always alot of fun.
I always enjoy a few hours of golf at Candler Park.
HINT: Balls lost in the woods can sometimes be bought back from persons without a permanent residence that take naps on the course.
- Pros: Cheap, Fun, Casual
- Cons: Not pretty, Not always well-kept
Learn Golf Cheaply
by bleachboy_77
Candler is a fantastic place for beginners to learn. Additionally, it is relatively inexpensive to play.
$7 for nine holes is a bargain for this course.
Is it friendly to beginners? Yes.
Is it inexpensive? Yes.
Would Clark Howard reccomend it? Probably so!
Are the course conditions fantastic?
Not "fantastic", but the maintenance guys do one heck of a job with the budget the city gives them.
Hacker Muny at it's finest

Hacker Muny. Greens shaggy, full of beginners, Cost $10 fo non residents, which is cheap, but not a good value. Good place to learn golf or target practice. Forgetting putting.
- Pros: Cheaper than most, Some tough holes, No reservations
- Cons: Poor conditioning, Full of beginners, Greens unputtable
