Met another couple for an important evening, which started with an argument with the hostess about seating. We were on time for our 7 PM reservation and even though the restaurant was largely empty, the hostess insisted on putting us at the worst table near the door and in the busiest aisle. We said we would wait in the bar for some of the other vacant tables to "open-up." Once seated at a previously unoccupied table, we found the waiter knew little about the non-descript wine list and had no recommendations about the menu selections. We soon learned why. Each one of us ordered a different entree and not one of them was a pleasant experience. The portions were very small, the presentation was cafeteria-like; and, above all else, the flavors fell far short of frozen dinners. The whole fish special that was to have been filleted at the table showed-up as a small pile of fish bones with some interlaced fish. When told it was unacceptable, the waiter sent a manager over to the table to say they were sorry (but they were not taking it off our bill). The four of us left a quarter of a thousand dollars poorer and still hungry. The only action that could improve this restaurant would be to close it.
Pros: Couldn't Name One
Cons: This place is open and other unsuspecting patrons will pay for this dining experience

Seated right before they closed on a slow weekday night. Server was professional friendly but very limited knowledge of wine list and apps. Wine list is very extensive, but a decent bottle (one I couldn't buy at publix for $9.99) starts around $65. We had the risotto, which was incredibly creamy and delicious, salads (house greens excellent, caesar marginal), and fish and lamb for entrees (which were prepared perfectly). Entrees are larger than expected, food excellent, service quiet and not interruptive (kudos!). Server patiently waited on us, though restaurant was closing, and pleasantly thanked us and welcomed back. Definitely will go back for special occasion. Our bill came to about $140, which was a bit more expensive than we expected. In comparison to horrible food and service at Fritti next door, Sotto Sotto is a unique and well-run restaurant.
Pros: Excellent food and service
Cons: pricey wine list, mediocre salads

The service was great. Our server knew the menu well and was able to make informed recommendations for food and wine. The antipasto dish and the pastas were delicious. The risotto with the balsamic vinegar was wonderful. The only downfall was the duck breast, which by the way our server did not recommended (perhaps intentionally). My jaw got a work out. The flavor was good (although the end pieces tasted a little charred) but it was extremely tough. Overall, I will definitely go back but I will stick to the pastas dishes.

Had good drinks and foods themself are not so bad ,,,however,,, tableware/dinner plates and foods are not to go togather. Those made food less tastey. They are,,something wrong for their food.

The food was very good. The service was good. For two, we spent about $100 for 1 glass of wine each, shared salad, first course, and second course, and dessert and coffee. A little pricier than I would have expected but still under $100. We probably won't return because the food didn't wow us and the selection in this city makes us expect nothing less. Plus it was a bit of a hike to get to. We didn't like the table setup. It felt like we were eating dinner with the two couples on either side of us. Very cozy.
Pros: Food
Cons: tables

I ate at Sotto Sotto this week and was mildly disappointed. The ambience is somewhat pleasurable but as I started down the stairs to take a quick peek at the main dining room before being seated, the maitre d' suddenly appeared like a lineman from Georgia Tech determined to squelch a touchdown, apparently thinking I was going to seat myself there rather than take my table in the front room -- pretty artless. My limoncello cosmo was excellent, my pear and arugula salad was dull and flavorless, the tortelli di mele was excellent and my orange custard was only so-so. My biggest complaint was the service. First, I must have been tended to by six or seven different people, reminding me of my experiences at a Houlihan's or Ruby Tuesday. One's ability to build a nice rapport with a server is to me a central factor in a fine dining experience. Secondly, the servers must have all taken speed before they arrived. The service verged on frantic with one member of the relay team who was tending to me plopping the bill onto my table and jetting off before I had a chance to ask for anything else (to his credit, seeing my pained expression, he stopped and said, "Did you want anything else?). Again, really artless. A good restaurant? Yes. Atlanta's best? Puh-leeze. The place has its moments and will impress those who are more concerned with 'trendy' than 'good'. A more consistent kitchen and a wait staff who knows how to manage a dining room without turning one's patrons into nervous wrecks, could perhaps move it into 'best' consideration.
Pros: Lively atmosphere, trendy ambience
Cons: Service staff at times quite artless, too concerned with trendy and not enough with good

I went there this past weekend on Saturday night. We had reservations for 2 at 9:15 p.m. and were seated at 9:25 p.m. The service was excellent. The waiter came by to check on us several times to make sure water was full and if we needed more drinks. The food came out very quick and was excellent. Parking is easy here - free valet. The service meet my expectations for the price paid. The decor was simple but elegant. There was no problems with the noise level as crowded as it was.
Pros: Free Valet Parking, Romantic, Decor was simple but elegant, Crowded but not noisy
Cons: Tables can be very tight - you have to pull the table out to get out.

My husband and I went to Sotto Sotto on our first date and it's still our favorite restaurant in town. Great food, great wine list, and great service. I like to get the veal or tuna carpaccio as an appetizer, but my husband always gets the clams. They do smaller sizes of pastas, so we'll usually try a couple things...i love their risotto with balsamic vinegar!!! I had the duck breast for my entree last time and it was delicious, but I couldn't eat it all. Sotto's wine list can be overwhelming, but the servers are pretty good at helping us find something new that we like.

My husband and I went for an anniversary dinner. We had a wonderful meal, not a romantic setting thought. Very hip and trendy setting. The food was very good. I had the seafood risotto and it was delicious. Service was very friendly and efficient.
Pros: food
Cons: setting
