My wife and I took a rainy day tour of the Carter Center. It was a day well spent. We really liked the travelling exhibit of gowns of the First Ladies in history. The museum layout is designed to make your self-guided tour of the facility simple to plan and follow. We ate in their cafeteria that has a pleasant atmosphere with a pleasing view of the grounds. The food was tasty and service was very friendly; we felt as if we were guests in the home of a hostess. President Carter's papers are organized by the day of the year. Plan to read a day of President Carter's papers from the library. It is a very interesting collection of memos and correspondence. The facination is the mix of people who contact a President of the Untied States and the reasons they write to him. We plan on returning this spring...and will read papers from his library at the mid-point of our day there.

Pros: Go at your own pace, price is fair, staff is approachable and friendly

Cons: none

I thoroghly enjoyed the museum. I thought they did a great job with the history of our presidential tradition and I liked the way they had the election, personal life & important treaties split up. I left wishing americans would have adopted his energy and foreign policy ideals with more fervor. He is a great man and I will always admire his accomplishments and vision.

Pros: inexpensive, intellectual
