Great food, pretty poor service
by ok
If you've heard of this place, you might have heard something like "this used be one of the best hangouts in Atlanta like 10 years ago" or something like that. I'm not sure if it's the influx of fratboys/yuppies, so much as the general influx in the whole city. I will say that it's become pretty standard for the service to absolutely suk. It's not uncommon to see 2 or 3 employees doing shots while half the bar is glaring at them, waiting for their check or their order or something. The jukebox can be painfully loud too.
- Pros: Great cheap food; stong, cheap drinks
- Cons: Jukebox is usually too loud; service can be HORRIBLE
coolest birthday ever

I was in atlanta for a short weekend and circumstances were odd... my friend took me to the righteous room. it was in a great spot, near a theatre and across the street from a buiding i was told was once owned by al capone...? either way it was trully genuine and appreciative service, delicious food and the best juke box i have had the pleasure to play in a long time... The bathroom walls are strewn with attempted poetry and artwork, something to see. the owner patrick was especially attentive, generous and charming. loved the spot, wish i lived there...
Righteous Bros. Jukebox & Hip Bar Grub!
by jaymaygm
Last night after leaving the Plaza Theater, for my retro movie house fix, we went next door to still one of the coolest little joints in town, with one of the best jukeboxes, anywhere. We ordered a couple of cold ones, from one tatooted out dude, who was just cool and very nice. My fave here always, is the big sloppy grilled cheese, and I have them put a couple of slices of bacon on. Talking about the ultimate comfort food. Cheese, cheese, and more cheese. My buddy had the veggie burger, while turning up his nose at my bacon. But we both got down on those onion straws. Killer jukebox, loudly playing the Righteous Brothers, "You've Lost That Lovin Feelin". And I always loose that feeling, when I walk out the door, of this little hip, cool spot on Ponce!
- Pros: Big, Flat, Sloppy Grilled Cheese Sandwich & Killer Juke Box! Hip Service!
- Cons: Parking Can Be Tight!
This funky Titan of the Atlanta bar scene wins big with a solid beer list, great snacks and a killer juke box.

In Short
An unlikely strip mall storefront gives way to this perpetually dark, clove cigarette-scented alcoholic underworld that's stocked with do-it-yourself furnishings, a funky bar and a jukebox. A regular spot for both after-work drinks and late-night pub grub, stars like Pink and Butch Walker blend in with the locals at this dark little joint. Known almost as much as a reliable snacks place as it is a watering hole, the Righteous Room is a nearly perfect continuum of good beer, respectable hard liquor pours and intelligent revisions of the usual bar food offerings. At the heart of the menu are dishes that are just healthy enough but without the kind of tricked-up vegetarian leanings that get in the way of a mildly self-destructive good time. Big winners include the self-proclaimed fatty grilled cheese, the hummus or salmon quesadilla and a very respectable burger. The onion straws are fantastic.
All Hail the Righteous Room!

All Hail the Righteous Room. They have an amazing jutebox, and clientel who use it to its potential. The service at the RR is dead on the money. They just don't miss a beat. The manager great. And the food wonderful. Best salad in town. How 'bout the black-eyed-pea chili? Brilliant! You can even get a decent glass of wine.
service sucks

Great drinks, but some of the females that work there need to not be in such a bad mood all of the time.
- Pros: drinks
- Cons: female staff
good for a low-key night
by strodhb
It was girls night out & someone suggested this place. We were a little disappointed at first, b/c it's nothing special for a girls-night-out. . but the food was yummm & the drinks were reasonably priced. Not the place to go for a HOT night on the town, but definately a place to go and just chill out.
- Pros: good food, reasonable prices
- Cons: kind of a dive
Cool hangout despite awful service
by deevah678
This is a great little pub with good draft beer and good munchies- Zero pretention and a great place to meet up with friends before an Indie film at the LeFont. The service can be horrible though. We had two servers who were completely rude on the same evening. It may have been something in the air that night. One ignored us after we were sitting there for 30 minutes because it was the end of her shift and she didn't want to bother with us...and made that very clear. The next one who took her place didn't wipe our table and acted completely rude as if it was a colossal pain to take our order. I find it odd that you have to pay for the tortilla chips when you order guacamole or another dip. Park at the supermarket across the street if lot is full.
- Pros: Cool Vibe, Strong Drinks, Good Munchies
- Cons: Poor Service, Parking
Awesome Neighborhood Pub
by johnkapp
Righteous Room is by far the best neighborhood bar. The service is awesome and the jukebox and dim atmosphere provide for a nice relaxing evening. The food is incredible . . best wings ever!!
- Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Affordable
What's with the sourpuss?
by prettygirl7
EVERYTHING about the Rightous Room is FAB-U-LOUS except for the one sourpuss waitress. I don't think she knows how to smile. So sad.
