Consistently Great Thai/Sushi!
by Citysearch Grodi
I just moved back to Atlanta after 6 years. I had to go back to my fav. thai rest. Harry & Sons. After 6 years this restaraunt still proves to be one of my favorites. Chicken Panang and Eggrolls were as usual Yummy! The service was warm and helpful.
- Pros: Always great food and service.
This Place Is Really Good...Really Good!
by BenW
Awesome.... Best sushi and Thai in town. Super Crunch Roll and the Harry Maki Roll, well forgetaboutit. I have had almost everything on the menu and have been blown away by it all. The service is always great, while the restaurant itself has a very easygoing vibe. I just wish I could get some of the lunch menu for dinner.
- Pros: Sushi, Thai, service, I can keep going
- Cons: none
Great sushi!
by spiffsteph
I?m a regular visitor here, and will continue to be one! My boyfriend and I come here for a healthy, tasty dinner of soup and sushi. The sushi is always fresh and tasty, although we did order take out from there once and didn?t have a great experience. They aren?t exactly cheap here, but the quality of the food is well worth the extra couple of dollars. I?ve never had a poor experience with the service other than it being slow when they?re crowded. It?s always clean and inviting, and the wait staff has always been more than kind. Love this place!
- Pros: Sushi, Soups, Apps,
- Cons: Thai
excellent asian foods in an unassuming package
by katieanddustin
Harry and Sons in Virginia Highlands is certainly unassuming on the outside - and inside really - but it fits the style of the Highlands. If you aren't looking for it, you can walk right by it. The inside isn't lavishly appointed either; it is the food alone that is the draw for this restaurant. The menu is pan-asian with a little american thrown in. Being a fairly new sushi eater, I was a little intimidated by the menu, actually. However, the tempura roll that I had was amazing. It was a bit pricey for a weekday lunch considering the other cheaper options, but as far as good sushi goes it was right on par. I have never been when it is busy, but judging by the size of the dining room, wait time probably get lengthy on the weekends. If you can sneak away for a weekday late lunch, I would recommend it. We sat right down and had our food in less than 20 minutes. It is a great place to meet friends.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: limited seating, a bit pricey
Great sushi!

The thai may be mediocre, but the sushi rolls are fantastic. Try the Crab roll.
- Pros: Sushi
- Cons: Service can be weak
Beginner Thai!
by jaymaygm
If you don't know anything about Thai cuisine, this might be a good place to start. This is the most basic Thai food, from the owner next door at Surin. Tasteless, no depth, and where is the curry? Service is that of college cafeteria. Hard to find a place to park.
- Pros: It's In The Highlands!
- Cons: Bland Food Quality, Very Basic Service!
PERFECTION REALIZED FOR LITTLE PRICE
by richwinga
This place serves the best gourmet food in town. The employees are the best servers in the business. There's never a wait: two inside seating areas ideal for parties and events. H&S has the perfect atmosphere for any occasion, business lunch, first date, anniversary. It is kid friendly, but during the day or on a Sunday evening is better family time.
Sushi quality is wonderful! The calamari rocks. And a bottle of sake is 10$ Can't beat that.
This is one of the best restaurants around!
See you there.
- Pros: sushi quality, service
- Cons: none
best sushi for your buck!
by beadleysa
Another long time favorite of mine. Harry & Sons is the perfect blend of sushi quality, atmosphere and value. This spot is not uber-trendy or a see & be seen place, which I prefer. The sushi quality is great and the prices are perfect for what you get. In the 5 years I've been eating here, I have never had a problem with the service. I always recommend Harry & Sons and it's always my first choice when the craving strikes!
I celebrated my 26th birthday party here as well. The original reservation was for 10 - which grew to 20. They did a great job accomodating us all!
Looking forward to more years of great sushi!!
- Pros: Great Value, Good Atmosphere, Outdoor Patio
- Cons: Lunch ends at 2:30
Really Bad Service
by hd_atlanta
I used to love this place. The food was good. I always got the sushi. But, over the past year or more, the service has really gone down hill. The worst offenders seem to be the managers!!! My boyfriend and I were treated really badly 3 or 4 visits in a row last summer and decided to never go back...and we haven't.
- Pros: good food, good price
- Cons: bad service, bad service, really bad service
The meat-and-three of the Panang Curry/Pad Thai world.

The Scene
Dingily charming, dot-com Bohemian and stocked to the rafters with the mostly underpaid meal-ticket population of the Highlands. Steady yourself for a tossing sea of baseball caps and cell phone types. Nondescript, baldly functional, Harry & Sons is consistently on a wait, and everyone inside is always having a good time.
The Food
Business Class Thai, with a sushi bar upgrade. Simple flavors, nicely spicy, with plenty of non-intimidating meats and heaps of veggies. Snack on a spicy tuna roll and potstickers before heading out Friday night; recover from Bar Golf with a bowl of chicken coconut soup; make a midweek date out of spicy noodle and shrimp curry. Stockily reliable, convenient and affordable--welcome to the Highlands' dining hall.
