I recently moved to the Va-Hi neighborhood and was thrilled to learn there was a bridal boutique within walking distance, because I'm getting married in August. My mom and I spontaneously stopped by while running errands because I still need a veil. I guess since we were dressed casually and wearing flip-flops, we were not the type of clientele Ms. La Raine likes to capitalize on. The very first thing she did was inquire what the NAME BRAND of my dress is, as she eyed what my mom and I were wearing. When she learned I had bought a discontinued gown straight off the dressrack, she really lost her composure. La Raine unsolicitedly informed us that we made a huge mistake by buying a 'cheap' dress because any dry cleaner/alterations we use will certainly ruin it. Despite my irritation, I turned the topic to veils. Since she had more than one shade of 'champagne' veils, I remarked that I'd probably need to compare my dress directly to veils. La Raine looked appalled and informed me that I could never be allowed to bring my second rate gown into her shop in order to compare it against veils. She curtly cut us off and hurried to go help other customers. No exaggeration, she acted like we were a liability even BEING in her shop. I overheard the syrupy sweet tone she used with the older, better-dressed women she was helping on our way out. Wearing jeans and sandals does not indicate anything about how much money I make or was willing to spend in her store. La Raine will now be missing out on the multitude of bridal purchases I will be making this year, as well the business from all the girls that were in my Georgia Tech sorority - everyone I know will be advised to never use this shop.
Pros: Pretty dresses and jewelery
Cons: Bad service, rude, snobby owner, miserable experience
