Let's face it. Atlanta is not the capital of style or fashion. I do admit it's getting better due to the likes of VM salon. Brandon D. has been cutting my hair for 13 year now. I always believed he is one of the best in the nation. The best part is that he understands me and the need for evolution as we get older. He's taken me through the punkier, multi-colored-hair college days to more "conservative" executive bob I require today. Even my now "conservative" do is stylish. I've never asked for any particular cut, he's just always understood his clients...no matter their age, personality, or life style. I can't even begin to count the number of times strangers have stopped me to ask "who cuts your hair?" This question has been consistent for all 13 years1 Brandon is definitely doing his part in making Atlanta more stylish. Thanks for everything!

• Cons: price seems high because Atlantans are not accustomed to this price point/quality.

New Talents with Nilan is a best-kept secret!

She has probably cut my hair 10 times in 2 years. I have complete trust to sit down and let her go at it. She knows me well enough to go for a style that is a little cooler than I might opt for with great result. The managers and front desk staff round out a very professional experience.

Incredible color with Lafe, and chic cuts from Nilan!

Nilan listened to my concerns about my current style and worked with my style to give me an awesome cut that got rave reviews from my friends! She is knowledgeable and thorough in explaining how to care for your hair and recreate the look at home. I was so grateful to sport a cut that reflected my style!

Lafe is an amazing colorist who listened to what I wanted, showed me some photos of what I was looking for, and then gave me the perfect blonde! I am now a devotee!

The whole experience is always pleasant as the staff is extremely polite and personable. Will be recommending to ALL my friends!!

I was very impressed by Nilan

I was visiting a friend in Atlanta two weeks ago, and she suggested I get an haircut since we were going out that night (and I had just started growing my hair longer again). I am not the type of guy who typically likes to spend money or time on my appearance, but that is mainly because I am never quite sure if a particular haircut really works for me . When I sat down with Nilan, my whole approach toward getting an haircut changed. She spent a good deal of time pointing out specific features that could be either enhanced or minimalized, and explained how all these adjustments would culminate in an actual style. It was the first time I really ever felt confident in a stylist's opinion of how I could look BETTER. Even my girlfriend said it was the first time she had ever seen me with a "good haircut," as opposed to the typical short haircuts I had always preferred. She really was terrific...

• Pros: Taught me what to look for in an haircut
• Cons: I live in Florida

Dallas is AWESOME!!!

Ok...take it from a new client that is hard to please - and not to "chatty" - "Dallas" was awesome. I was a bit nervous seeing a new colorist - but she quickly eased my fears with the way she listed to what I wanted. She then show me a few pix to be certain we were on the same page. As she performed her magic ... I really felt like I was enjoying time with someone that I already knew. Impossible - we'd just met. Long story short: I will only book appointments w/her from now on. PS: the hand message with Aveda lotion and the neck rub...yummy!

• Cons: That she isn't in every city!

Nilan is Great!!!!

Although I live over in the Smyrna/Vinings area, I decided that I would make the drive over to New Talents to get my haircut after finding out that my old stylist was moving out of the state. I have gotten my hair cut three times now by Nilan and couldn't be any happier. It is well worth the drive. She is very friendly and knowledgeable which is very refreshing. After having long hair pretty much my entire life I decided that I wanted a change. I was very nervous about getting my hair cut short, but Nilan made me feel at ease. She is great at explaining exactly what she is going to do and describes the products she uses throughout the session. She is great at figuring out what type of haircut is good for your face shape and style. I have walked out of New Talents loving my haircut and getting many compliments. I will not go anywhere else!!! Nilan is Great!!!

Nilan new talent stylist

I wasn't sure what to expect from the New Talent division of Van Michael, but many of my friends have had positive experiences there and I thought that I would try out an inexpensive haircut. My stylist was Nilan and she was incredibly professional in appearance and how she spoke to me. I have been to other stylists who ask you what kind of haircut you are trying to achieve but then just end up doing whatever they feel like doing in the end. Nilan, however, sat me down and I really felt like I was able to explain to her what I wanted. Then she actually gave me a great haircut.

She was very professionally and fashionably dressed and we chatted about current fashion, styles, etc and she seemed very knowledgeable. I have had stylists before who seemed more interested in gossiping with their friends than paying attention to me and how I am doing, but Nilan wasn't like that at all.

Overall I had a really great experience. I got a cute haircut and really felt like I was given service far above what I have received at other salons.

Best Stylist Ever.

I just want to say that Nilan is the best stylist I have ever had. You would never know that she is a "New Talent." I was a little nervous at first, ya know, going to a "New Talent" salon, but Nilan immediately made me feel at ease right from the beginning of our appointment. We sat down together and THOROUGHLY discussed my hair style process. She was very insightful in her opinions and suggestions. I had previously had my hair cut by several other stylists, trying to find my permanent match, but they all had just cut one sloppy cut to another... Eventually when I found Nilan, she shaped my cut so that I no longer look like Frankenstein and gave me cute bangs that really shape my face well. Every time I see her she is super gorgeous and she is really friendly and easy to talk to (cause you know that's important). She truly has a passion for hair and she takes her time to make sure that you are extremely satisfied, in contrast to other stylists that I have seen where they just try to hurry through the appointment because they have other people waiting. The best part is, the cut is not expensive at all. I have paid much more for way worse haircuts. I <3 Nilan!!!

quinn is the worst! see another colorist!

I went in the other day to get my color done and I left looking like a freak! Quinn said my hair looked great as she began to socialize with other stylists. I had no time to say I hated it!!! I hated her and my hair...so i went to someone else and they fixed my hair. This is the funny part, the lady who fixed my hair had just fixed another one of Quinn's mistakes!!!!! Small world?
