Prepare to pay for EVERYTHING

by Gardenstate01 at Citysearch

internet costs 10 bucks a day. and the worst part is that after a long flight you need to get online and purchase the internet time by yourself, as if they can't charge it directly to the room. The only water they have in the room is 6 a bottle, you need to pay for every single call you make from the room including local and 1 800 numbers... the hotel room is small... sheets are not changed daily if you don't request... one thing for sure is I am NOT coming back to this hotel!!

Not at all as expected. Prepare to spend more money.

by computerflake at Citysearch

There are a few things travellers should know about this place before plunking down the money this place demands. First, they charge you $10 for Internet access, $17 to park your own car, and everything in the room has a price tag on it. It was like sleeping in a flea market. They nickel and dime you to death at this place. Buckhead has closed the local shops and everything that is still open, closes at 9PM so plan accordingly. I stayed in a higher priced room on the 23rd floor and the room was small compared to the price. I thought it was overpriced for what I got and left feeling like I had been cheated. You should consider staying at the Omni or the Westin for this kind of money. There wasn't much of a view, either. I got a room on the 23rd floor for a view but the surrounding hotels block any decent view you would normally have. Very disappointed in the Grand Hyatt.

  • Pros: Nice bathrooms, that's about it
  • Cons: Too expensive for too little services, charged for EVERYTHING extra, small rooms for the price, no nightlife in the area

Luxury hotel rises above one of Buckhead's busiest corners.

by Contributor at Citysearch

The Scene
Built in 1990 as the Hotel Nikko, this 25-story hotel could pass for a bank. Two clean-lined, classically inspired towers define the facade. Inside, traces of the Orient remain--the somewhat gaudy lobby features a lush Japanese garden replete with two low-volume, 20-foot waterfalls. All this stands prominently on Buckhead's busiest corner. Lenox Square, Phipps Plaza and the area's glass high-rises and various boutique shops are a short shuttle ride away.

The Details
Dark colors and rich, polished wood create a traditional luxury look within the rooms. You get all the perks--daily newspaper delivery, an ironing board, minibar and even a fax machine and fog-free bathroom mirrors. A sundeck, fully stocked fitness center and saunas are a few of the finer points.

Not the Ritz

by jcollins_brad at Citysearch

For the price that you pay to stay at a "Hyatt" hotel, you can stay at the Ritz Carlton for almost the same amount of money. The Grand Hyatt of Atlanta is a nice hotel, don't get me wrong. I enjoyed my stay however, the parking and the Valet attendants were very rude.

  • Pros: Nice Rooms
  • Cons: Rude Service

A Great Place To Stay!!!

by Sultana007 at Citysearch

This hotel is wonderful. The price is steep, but considering the services and amenities, it's definitely a value. Every guest is treated like royalty, and I have only good things to say about the Grand Hyatt Atlanta. If you stay here, don't forget to check out the waterfall.

Have plenty of singles available

by CaramelPinay at Citysearch

In my opinion, the only thing grand about the Hyatt is the cost. I booked a room through Priceline, which was still expensive. The hotel is nice looking, but the rooms are rather small and cramped, though the bathroom is large. Room service is highway robbery, charging 19% surcharge, 7% tax, and a $2.50 delivery fee! The "courtesy car" will gladly drop you off within a 2-mile radius, but forget them answering their cell when you need to be picked up. We had to walk back to the hotel in cold, 44 deg rain from having dinner-twice. The minibar is overpriced and without selection(pringles, nuts, etc). Paid parking @$11/24hrs. High-pressure valet.

  • Pros: It's in Buckhead, 24-hour health spa, Fast check-in
  • Cons: Local calls too high, Unreliable shuttle, Room svc. overpriced
