Best Ribs
by Dswhig at Citysearch
One Star Ranch has the Best Ribs I've tasted in Atlanta. I love the Baby Back Pork Ribs, 100% meat, great BBQ sauce and the sides are all excellant as well, the coleslaw tastes like my grandma's. My husband loves the Beef Ribs, they are tender and there is enough meat for two people. But don't leave without trying the homemade Brownie & Ice Cream! Oh and we have always had prompt and friendly service.
- Pros: All the food & Service
Great BBQ. The best I have had in ATL. The owner Frank, makes you feel right a home. Very friendly staff as well.

My husband and I went to One Star for the first time on July 4, 2007. All of the food was Great. My favorite were the pork ribs, oh my goodness what wonderful flavor. The beef ribs were huge, meaty tender and delicious as well, perfectly charred. I just prefer pork ribs. My husband had the chicken and he said it was delicious as well. I had so much good food on my plate I did not bother to try his. We both thought the sides were delicious as well. I ordered a chopped bbq to go that I am sure I will enjoy today. The only negative thing I have to say is we could not get a brownie to go in which I still don't understand. Looking for great bbq, One Star Ranch is the place. You will not regret it. OK, I think it is time to warm and eat my chopped bbq sandwich now.
- Pros: Great BBQ - Music - Down to Earth Owner - Friendly Staff and Crowd
- Cons: It looks like parking may be a problem depending on the time of the day.
Texas BBQ Rib Shack In Buckhead!
by jaymaygm at Citysearch
Well if you have never had the pleasure of eating authentic Texas BBQ, this little rib shack tucked behind Whole Foods is the place. And what is Texas BBQ? It's beef, baby, beef! The Texas Steer ribs are huge, and perfectly charred. Two sauces are available. Try the hot, you won't need the bottle of Tabasco sitting on the table. Served with a slice of thick Texas bread, and two sides. Try the wonderful Brunswick stew, with bits of okra, and the BBQ beans.
Wash it all down with a big glass of sweet tea, you can get it unsweetened, if you must. Finish it off with homemade peach cobbler. Where else in Buckhead, can you lick your fingers, without being put to shame. And take those huge steer rib-bones home to Fido!
- Pros: Texas BBQ Ribs, Onion-Ring Loaf, Friendly Staff!
- Cons: Parking Can Be Tricky, If Driving!

We just moved here from Austin, TX - home of some mighty fine BBQ - and were eager to give this neighborhood joint a try. It was barbecue heaven! We sampled just about everything on the menu and it was all excellent. The meats were succulent and tender with a just-right, slightly sweet sauce; massive, falling-off-the-bone beef ribs were the star. Slaw was fresh and crisp, and the peach cobbler was a mouthwatering finish. The servers treated us like old friends. We went on a Wednesday night and there was plenty of parking. Can't wait to bring our families here when they visit!
- Pros: inexpensive, easy to find, covered patio
- Cons: small inside
Rib-A-Licious

The best pork ribs this side of Lake Erie. The people are so nice, we felt very welcome and only wish that we lived closer to Atlanta so we could enjoy the menu more often.
I rarely write letters to restaurants that I liek but this time was an exception.
- Pros: Food, Ambience, Cost
- Cons: No local advertising
Beef Ribs

I was looking for a place that had beef ribs, and found a place that had good beef ribs! They gave us some out of the way directions but overall the food was good. The best part is they have combo plates so you can get both chicken and ribs! I left happy and full!
- Pros: Combo plates, Free Parking
Texas-style barbecue and a ranch with a patio in the heart of Buckhead.

The Scene
Hunting for barbecue in the heart of Buckhead? The good news is this low-ceilinged, whatcha-gonna-have-hon, rib joint radiates downhome appeal. It's Texas everywhere you look--walls and support beams thick with license plates and autographed dollar bills, saddles and trophy heads and throwback road signs.
The Food
The pork ribs hold their own, but the beef ribs are what built this place. They're bronto-massive, expertly smoked, lightly sauced. A treat for you, and a quick trip to doggie heaven for your buddy at home. Don't miss the chile or the Brunswick stew either. And the jalapeño cornbread positively rocks.
Best BBQ in Atlanta

The place is a dump, the floors are not level and the parking is awful, but the BBQ is the best you'll ever have. This is the kind of place you would pass up based on appearance, but you'll be sorry if you do. One Star is a must for anyone who even remotely likes BBQ.
- Pros: Great Sauce, Great Service, Good Value
- Cons: Parking
