$24.00 bowl of cereal!
by atlguy35 at Citysearch
The downtown Sheraton is a clean hotel with average room accomodations. Please be aware that if you choose to stay here, the hotel will 'nickel and dime' you throughout your visit. For example, there is no continental breakfast provided. The basic breakfast - a bowl of cereal and a glass of juice is $24.00 ($17.00 + 3.00 room delivery fee + 20% mandatory gratuity). The room is stocked with an assortment of drinks and snacks - a bag of peanuts is $7.00, snack sized pretzels are $7.00, and a can of soda is $5.50. This is 'conveniently billed' to your room if you or a member of your party gets a craving in the middle of the night and need a quick snack. I felt as though anything I touched in the room would incur some type of 'extra fee'. Also, there is a sign in the room that says "If signs of smoking are detected on your clothing- a $200.00 room cleaning fee will be added to your bill." We are non-smokers but I was fearful to go to a bar or club for fear of the hotel trying to milk us for even more money....
- Pros: Clean hotel. Comfortable beds.
- Cons: $24.00 bowl of cereal, $7.00 snacks and drinks
Horrible Place to Stay!
by Acurachick01 at Citysearch
I was embarrassed for the staff at this hotel. I made my reservations 3 months in advance for a Nov 24-26, 08 vacation. I called the hotel direct to find out what parking costs were and where the parking was in relation to the hotel. I was told $9 a day and parking directly below the hotel, no walking except to the elevator. I thought it was a good deal so I booked directly through the hotel site and specifically requested a room AWAY from the elevators. I got my next credit card statement for Sept. and saw that the hotel had already taken my money, I attempted to cancel online and saw where I would get no refund, I was appalled. I should have known then not to expect much.
I checked in on the 24th and was demanded to give a cc for 'incidentals' I did, went up to the room and immediately saw I was beside the elevators and the room key would not work. I went back downstairs (toting luggage) and got another room after waiting in line to see the only person at the front desk. I was then given a second room and saw it was a joke-this place is no better than a Hampton Inn-and their rooms are bigger. I was disgusted by wasting money here when I could have gone to Doubletree and had a bigger room and cookies at check in.
I go to check out on the 26th, was not given a bill after checking out but was told the room key would work to get out. the room key was already deactivated by the time I walked the 1/4 mile to the vehicle in the parking deck to pack up and leave. We were finally able to get someone to let us out and I went straight to the front desk again and demanded my receipt. Once I got it, I saw I was charged $18 per day parking and flat out LIED to that there was not a walking distance of 1/4 mile to get to the elevators. I attempted to call the hotel manager, Niles, to get the parking adjusted to what I was told, but he has refused to call me. Very poor service all around.
- Pros: Checked out
- Cons: Checked In
Great conference facilities.

Conference facilities were spacious, however very spread out. Make sure you tour the facilities before booking.
it doesn't get any better than this

i was visiting atlanta for the very first time during labor day weekend and was treated royally. i was very impressed with the VIP suite--kingsize bed, sofabed, 2 tvs, corner desk w/executive leather chair, and mini-sized boardroom round glasstop table w/ 4 other leather executive chairs. the room also had internet access and a multi-pressure showerhead in the bathroom.
great service with friendly staff, great location downtown, and an all-around luxurious place to stay while visiting 'the A'.
check it out!!
- Pros: ahhh, the bed. great location, great staff.
- Cons: none at all
Local's Choice

Great place to stay for fun events downtown. There are pet friendly rooms with a second door leading outside. Hotel pool with retractable roof and overlooking lounge are wonderful extras. Nice internet center in the lobby. Views are iffy but can provide interesting entertainment if overlooking one of the late night clubs nearby.
- Pros: Pool, Pet Friendly, Lounges

This Hotel Property is all about customer service and comfort, and provides it in a unique style. Spectacular courtyard, and views of the city.
Guest Service Clerks Sudi Roy, Carshawn Copeland and Kenya Dilliard let you know you are very special to this hotel and provide the level of service (always with a smile) you expect as a Starwood Preferred Guest Member.
Another unexpected pleasure is The Fandangles Restaurant and Chef Alistair J. Housen...meals are prepared to order with great flair and his daily Chef Specials are outstanding. The food is Excellent.
Club Floor Rooms are loaded with amenities and the Club Lounge is a welcome place to relax and unwind.
Kevin Kobishop (General Manager) and Christopher Doyle (Director of Operations) have done an excellent job of selecting the right staff for each operation within this wonderful hotel.
- Pros: Outstanding Service, Great Location, Excellent Dining

Decadent martinis go down easily at this sleek, hidden hotel bar.

The Scene
With its funky decor, stylishly lit bar and view of the Sheraton's exotic indoor swimming pool, Fandangles looks just like a trendy lounge. Its obscured location on the third floor of the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, though, keeps it from becoming a hot spot. Hotel guests, the bar's predominant patrons, group around the many bar tables after a weary day of work. Televisions provide entertainment for lone travelers.
The Draw
One martini, two martini, three martini, four. Use Fandangles--and its delicious $7 martinis and margaritas--to jump start a night out with the group. If you have a sweet tooth, try the vanilla mousse or chocolate-covered raspberry martini; both come in frozen glasses decorated with chocolate swirls. Bar food is also reasonably priced, and includes burgers, onion bisque and a New York strip steak sandwich.
What a surprise!

I couldn't believe the beautifully decorated interior of this hotel. From the outside of the place, especially the rear of the hotel where I parked my car, it looked quite dated and similar to a cheap roadside hotel. But once inside I was extremely impressed. Spectacular courtyard with a retractable roof, hard to believe it was in downtown Atlanta. Good service, too. A nice change from the other choices in Atlanta.
- Pros: ample parking, design, service
