Thank you, proximity

I have this disabling/annoying condition- you see, I absolutely love pizza, down to the very core of me (namely, my belly), but I can only enjoy certain kinds (namely, 'good' or 'very well-made'). I go to GSU, and decided to try this place out as I was walking to Aderhold for a class. So many non-New York states try to get the New York pizza right, and fail miserably (e.g. a pizza place a couple blocks away). Rosa's not only delivers a superb New York style pizza, but offers great prices for what you are getting (huge cheesy goodness). I HIGHLY recommend everyone stop by at least once.

Mama Mia !!! It's Rosa's

by ilovemywife at Citysearch

1 slice of spinach, 1 slice of mushroom, and I am good to go. This is my favorite pizza in the city. I don't eat pork, but tomatoes, onions or even sun dried tomatoes all make for a pleasant pizza eating experience. Even with a crowded lunch line wrapped around the whole store and down the stairs, the ordering process is different , but finely tuned to get you in and out. Next!!! Price is cool, store is old but relatively clean. Rosa's is my spot.

  • Pros: Great pizza, quick
  • Cons: No weekends, and closes at 6pm

Going to Gsu, eating down town in between classes is hard. Growing up in Long Island. I know real pizza. There pizza is good. But, When I see an employee sneeze and not wash his hands and contunue to make pizza. Makes me want to run as fast as I can from this place.

Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing! The Best In Atlanta!

by atlcuisineguy at Citysearch

I've lived in NYC and Chicago, and never in a million years did I think pizza like this would be found in Atlanta. And boy was I wrong. I had to take my son down to GSU for registration and books, and we stopped into Rosa's. Just perfect. No frills, just a hole-in-the wall near Georgia State. But when we walked in, and smelled the pizza, I knew something good was coming our way. This is the real thing, with real Italian's working behind the counter. Thin crust, great maranara, and too much cheese. Just the way I like it. You do not need toppings, but the Italian Sausage is very good.

  • Pros: Authentic NYC Italian Pizza! Best In Atlanta!

As a NY transplant and being accused of being a "Pizza Snob" I can state without hesitation that Rosa's is the closest thing you will get to NY style pizza here in Atlanta. If you know what makes a good pizza (thin crust, little sauce, lots of cheese and olive oil) then you get it. The only criticism I have with Rosa's is that they need to "tweak" the sauce a bit.

Bit of NY in ATL

by papahawk at Citysearch

Couldn't wait to try when I hear all of the reviews of best NY pizza. They are right. Night thin crispy crust a bit of saucce and nicely melted cheese, don;t need toppings. Calzone's good dough and sauce on side; used to more ricotta with the nice hint of mozarella, they reverse it but still good.

If you like the generic non-pizza of Pizza Hut go across the street, if you want excellent pizza go here. Don;t come for the atmosphere it is all about the pizza

Little Italy In Downtown ATL!

by jaymaygm at Citysearch

Everyone knows when you go to NYC, you go to Little Italy for homestyle pizza and Mama's other favorites. When you are in DT-ATL, do yourself a favor, and get in line, at this hole-in-the wall. When you finally get inside to place your order at the counter, you will think you are in Little Italy. Just the best NYC pizza this side of the Mason-Dixon line! Crispy slices the way you like. My favorite is a variation of a slice, called a Sausage Roll. Italian sausage, cheese, peppers, onions, and sauce rolled-up in pizza dough and baked. One of my all time favorite sand/pizza items anywhere.

Get your food and head outside to one of the many tables on the sidewalk. Students, businessmen, office workers, and any one else wanting a taste of The Big Apple!

  • Pros: Best NYC Pizza In The ATL!
  • Cons: Can't get my order fast enough!

Only good if you like New York pizza...

by twhis at Citysearch

Rosa's is the closet pizza to NYC pizza in Atlanta. The crust is harder, the toppings fresh, and the slices large. It's also greasy, and flavorful! I highly recommend Rosa's to anyone from the north.

  • Cons: long lines
