The Setting
Clayton County International Park hosted the 1996 Olympic Beach Volleyball competition. Other activities include a water park, paved paths for walking or jogging, and tennis courts. The park is convenient to downtown Atlanta and points south, especially Clayton, Rockdale and Henry counties.
The Ride
One highlight of the park is its biking trail system. You'll find a map of the trail system at the pond. Each trail is color-coded to indicate the level of difficulty, so beginners can ride here without fear. The trails feature several steep descents, tight rooty sections and some smooth fast sections at the top of the hill. The grass field features several three-foot drops for serious jumping. With more than eight miles of trail, this system is well maintained and sparsely used. This network of trails can be ridden in any order and any direction, giving riders the chance for a unique ride each time they return.
