The service was prompt and wonderful. Chips with salsa and our drinks were placed upon our table immediatly. I had quesadilla grande and it was excellent! Huge serving.

  • Pros: Inexpensive, Tasty

this is my favourite restaurant in Atlanta. It's always full, has a real family-type atmosphere, totally affordable, and absolutely delicious. Try the shrimp quesadillas or the taco salads. I literally dream of their shrimp quesadillas when I am not in Atlanta.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times and were just in for a dinner. We ordered 3 chicken burritos and then ordered a fourth when we realized the kids were going to be eating all their food. My wife took a bite of the last one as the kids had eaten the one she was sharing with them and immediately spit it out on seeing a fly inside the stuffing that had fallen out when she cut her bite. It was very obviously cooked in the burrito. We called over the manager and without even an apology, he just asked if we wanted another one. After paying, I tried to solicit an apology (the mgr was working the cash register) and all I got from him was the suggestion that there are flies outside (we were eating on the patio)... NOT a good response.... We weren't looking for free food (in fact I make it a habit to not accept free food because I feel it 'weakens' my complaint when I have one). Our waiter had given only a casual 'sorry about that' when we told him about it a few minutes later.... and that was it.... We WON'T be going back....

Visited Moneterrey for the first time a few weeks ago. The parking lot is always full so we decided to give it a try. The food was great. Tasty and the shrimp quesadilla was packed with shrimp - which I consider a good measuring stick for if a restaurant is chintzing you. The other combos were ginormous - often coming on two plates. The atmosphere is casual, unassuming and family friendly. It's not a fancy place but for what it's offering, it delivers and more.

My singles class at church used to come here for lunch about once a month and it was a popular spot. We usually had 12-15 people in our group. Everyone seems to enjoy the food. I especially loved their chicken and cheese enchilada platter. Most of the platters include rice and beens. Most plates aare pretty inexpensive but very tasty. Lunch specials, too.

  • Pros: Good prices. Good food.
  • Cons: Not fancy.

The other reviewers are telling the truth. We eat here often and have always had prompt service. Even on the busiest nights, they somehow get our food out to us amazingly fast. A testament to the dedicated staff, as opposed to the high-turnover college student staff you find at many other places. It's a family friendly environment, good prices, GREAT food. I highly recommend the shredded chicken taco salad if you want the most tender chicken you've ever tasted and a healthy portion of delicious guac.

  • Pros: Quality, Authentic food, Inexpensive, Parking, and most of all - Incredible service!
  • Cons: On busy nights there are usually tons of kids, which is good if you have kids, but bad if you hate them :)

Monterrey is not only my favorite Mexican restaurant, but my favorite restaurant as well! I can't count the number of times I've eaten there. Staff is always friendly and quick to get you seated and bring your food out. Chips and salsa are always fresh. Great lunch specials. Prices are very reasonable. I moved from the Atlanta area almost 8 years ago, but every visit I make at least 2 or 3 visits to Monterrey!

Consistently good Mexican food. We go alot for lunch, and you can't beat the value. Everything I've tried has been good, as is the service. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants.
