A folk art haven that's hidden, quirky and absolutely not for the color-blind.

Home Is Where the Art Is
"Make yourself at home," greets the gallery owner as you walk up the front porch steps. "Comfortable" is the best way to describe this progressively minded space with Southern charm. Tucked away in Scottdale's pocket of art galleries and antique shops, Primitive Eye occupies an old home complete with a fireplace, a kitchen-turned-studio in the back and bluegrass music on the radio.
The Collection
Just try to find empty wall space at this kooky shop. Every hidden closet, painted table, nook and cranny is stacked with eye-catching pieces. What initially seems a hodge-podge of outrageous artwork presents itself as specifically-themed rooms of acclaimed self-taught artists.
Worth a Trip?
Forget that it's a haul for most of us--you won't find many places more interesting in Atlanta (art-related or not). Make it an afternoon and spend a day on a side of town you probably rarely visit. You won't go home empty-handed.
