A storybook kingdom for the kid in all of us.

The Scene
What child wouldn't fall in love with reading in this quaint gray cottage just off Roswell's village green? The cozy rooms are stuffed with children's books for every age and interest, with lots of pudgy board books at toddler eye level. Simple decorations, like brown paper-bag puppets, are a welcome contrast to the big chains' commercialized hype. And while you're browsing, be sure to eavesdrop on the storytelling often taking place in the basement.
The Goods
Hobbit Hall's comprehensive and well-edited selection spans every genre. There are artfully illustrated classics, craft books, children's series and familiar characters like Arthur, Franklin and Clifford. In the extensive nonfiction section, curious tykes can find whole shelves dedicated to special interests like amphibians and anatomy.
