Bargain City Thrift Store has it's pros and cons...sometimes a great, sometimes not.

I've been visiting Bargain City for over ten years. Sometimes it's a great place to find great bargains, sometimes not. Lately there have been many choices of high-end designer label NWT department store finds. These items are extremely reasonably priced and a great buy if you can find the appropriate size. Best buys at Bargain City are usually the clothes (for men, women, and children), books, and linens. Electronics are a bit 'chancy,' but it *is* a thrift store after all. If you look real hard and visit very, very, very often, you might luck up on a 'collectible' item or maybe even an antique for a real steal. Keep in mind, however this is a rarity. I found a set of 8 "Southern Railroad" glasses there once for $6.99; and an Anne Klein NWT 350.00 coat for 15 bucks! The encased items at the front of the store that they think are collectible or valuable are not worth the price at all, so be careful there. In spite of my occasional great finds at this thrift store, I do have a pet-peeve with Bargain City. There appear to be some workers in the back who 'price' these donated articles, and have deemed themselves to be experts in recognizing valuable items. This has resulted in a lot of the items there being ridiculously overpriced. The majority of the framed pictures along the wall, for example, can usually be newly purchased for less at retail stores like Target, Michael's, and Marshall's, and Value City. Another pricing atrocity are obvious used dollar store items being sold for 1.01. So a word of caution to potential Bargain city shoppers is to use much discernment before making a purchase; and shop only on Saturdays and Mondays when everything in the store, except the high-end stuff, is half-price. Be warned that you will often have to tolerate stepping over strewn toys and unsupervised children playing in the aisles. Nonetheless, Bargain City is still a great adventure and worth the visit.

Pros: You'll find some good bargains.

Cons: Don't expect ambience or good customer service. It's a thrift store.
