good karaoke outside the perimeter

just when my boyfriend was saying that there's nothing special outside the perimeter we find this place. we went there today specifically because they have karaoke on wednesdays and we both love it. what they have is actually "kamikaze karaoke" which, if i understood correctly means, you sing the song you like plus you also have to sing a random song you pick from a hat. every week these random songs have a theme i hear and today it happened to be michael jackson songs. i don't know if this is the reason we had such a great time. it could be, but also the karaoke guy was energetic and encouraging without going overboard; the crowd was friendly, fun and in the mood for dancing and singing; the service of your basic bar pub fare was quick; our waitress was very attentive; the buffalo chicken fingers were tasty; the drinks were good and cheap and the vibe was very good. i substract one star because we smelled like cigarrettes afterwards. this will be our "cheers" neighborhood bar in alpharetta. will be back again, often.

• Pros: one of the few places i've found with good karaoke
• Cons: smoking allowed

I tried Chaplin's with a friend after getting promo cards in my mailbox claiming it was "family friendly". We had to sit outside as customers could smoke inside. The inside reeked of smoke and beer and looked like a musty watering hole. The outside was sad and looked like it needed some work. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries, easy right? Tasted like something I would get in a mall. I felt gross eating here and I was very disappointed in the false advertising that had enticed me here. The server was great and it was not the worse food I had, but I will not return.

Great hang out

My friends and I stumbled across Chaplins about a year ago and we are now totally addicted! Although they still allow smoking, I can't imagine the place without it. The bartenders are attentive, but not "overly" attentive. The karaoke is either the best in town or the funniest, depending on the night! The food is typical bar food, not great-not bad. If you are looking for just something fun, try this!

Love the food & nachos here!!!! The employees are very friendly here too!!! Looks like many patrons have been coming here for years.

Awesome Karaoke Bar

The food is typical bar quality. But, the drinks are strong and the karaoke is awesome. Wed, Fri and Sat from about 10pm to 2am is karaoke. Its the only good karaoke bar around atlanta.

Best Wings

Chaplins has the best wings in town, IF you can cut through the locals to get to the deck.
