I just had to post a review after visiting Audio Alternative. The store was amazing; you really need to go there to see what they are all about. I was helped by two guys named Mike and Mike; they called themselves stereo Mike's. One of them had all the answers to my Home Automation questions, Structured Wiring. Design and Installation and the other one had all the answers to my High End Audio and Two Channel Questions. Together they seemed to know it all; I would recommend them to anyone. They were like the dream team of audio video. They also have a great website with all kinds of things from Audio Gear to Furniture. Must See!

Pros: Great gear, Real Music Lovers, Good Deals.

Cons: None.

Alan and his team at Audio Alternative run a first rate, customer oriented, "top-notch" operation. Everyone is very knowledgeable, nice and most importantly they're just as passionate about Audio and Video as their customers. Their selection proves that they care about not only providing the best products, but to do so while offering true value. They've done their research and it shows, I cannot recommend them enough and I will certainly return.

Just ran into city search looking for something else; I am SO taken by these wonderful people I wanted to do them justice and leave another review. Shawn, Alan and Mike (wife and hubby, owners, and LONG time employee) have been doing this here for - eight years, I think? I found them in 2002, looking to build another mid-level system. I've been an audio nut since the 70's - still have my Harman-Kardon Citation series in the office, in fact (which THEY repaired for me!); added about a $4-5k system from them after beating the bushes looking for someone who talked this language. They LOVE this stuff. They CONSTANTLY listen to the stuff on the market - from the $2k systems all the way up to (gulp) hundreds of thousands of bux. The range is in the store. At whatever level you can afford, they've listened to all of it and carry what they believe as aficionados to be the best in the industry at every price point. They'll tell you what they like and DO NOT like about what they have, and have the knowledge to discuss (not bad mouth) the alternatives. Not handy with all this complexity? No sweat, they'll come do it for you (yes, you pay for it). Handy with stuff to do it yourself? They'll spend all the time you need to talk you through it. THAT's for free. Wonderful, wonderful, HONEST, competent people. In a cutthroat business. It simply does not get any better than this.

Pros: I've been an audio nut for 40 of my 61 years. I've NEVER found people so competent and NICE. Their prices are good, NOT cheapest. DO NOT buy audio on price.

Cons: They can't duplicate this across the country for the rest of you.

By far the best brick and mortar audio I've been to in my 30 plus years of being an audiophile. Spending time with the crew at Audio Alternative is always great. they are eager to help you and auditions are never a problem.(unlike some stores) I'm suprised they get anything done there considering the quality of the rooms they have set up, and the way they all love listening to music. If your in the ATL. area...check them out.

Pros: open fairly late. Fantastic service.

Cons: none

Whether you are looking for home theater, a great stereo rig, or creating a total home music and information environment, this is the place. The VERY knowledgeable staff at Audio Alternative can help you find your dream system, and within your budget. This is a much better shopping experience than any big box store. No pressure. They have a wide range of equipment, to fit all needs and tastes, as long as you are interested in quality and service! Best independent audio dealer in Atlanta.
