Great food, service, and atmosphere!

by BigWil at Citysearch

There use to be a BiBa's in Loganville where I live, but it closed down for whatever reason. While the one in Lawrenceville is about a 30-40 minute drive, it is definitely worth it! Everything is made fresh to order (not frozen and then reheated!) Homemade sauces make this place a favorite from the get go! Try the Tortelini Gabrielle!!! It's THE BEST!

  • Pros: Tastes like homemade!!!

Families and locals flock to this casual restaurant for great Italian outside the Perimeter.

by Contributor at Citysearch

In Short
Neighborhood families and couples crowd this casual Gwinnett restaurant for surprisingly affordable pizza and pasta served in huge portions. The red booths and faux-marble wall tiles don't scream chic, but the food quickly wins you over.
Come hungry--the warm, garlicky, parmesan-dusted rolls can fill you up. Entrees are likewise hefty. Rich chicken marsala includes three large pieces of chicken cooked with mushrooms and wine, all served with salad and pasta. Pepper-flecked fra diavolo sauce is superb, but so is tangy, melting-tender veal Franchesca. Dessert presents an easier decision: Skip mediocre tiramisu and try sweet, crisp cannoli instead.

Great neighborhood restaurant

by ingridwatson at Citysearch

Even though we have been in the area for two years, this was our first time dining at BiBa's. We were seated quickly, and our waitress (Stacy) was very nice and friendly. We ordered immediately due the fact that my husband already knew he wanted an appetizer and lasagna. Stacy did tell me about the specials for the day, and I actually ordererd the seafood and pasta dish. Our calamari came out a short time later, and was hot and crispy. My husband loved it, and only shared a little bit with me. The main course is served with a salad - my husband had the garden salad, and I selected a greek salad which was only $1.50 more. Our main course came out, and the portions were perfect. We had enough to share with each other, and the food was delicious. I think my husband enjoyed my dish better than his lasagna. We left BiBa's full and happy, and we will definitely go back.

Not inpressed

by maggie2410 at Citysearch

I went to BiBa's in Braselton last night with my son and daughter and had heard so much about their great food but was not impressed . I ordered chicken parmigiana and was disappointed: the sauce was flavorless (more like a can of tomato sauce over noodles) chicken was over cooked (crusty bottom), salad was too cold from being in refrigerator, croutons would have been a nice touch. My son ordered a shrimp pasta plate which looked good but again very bland. It had slivers of garlic but didn't taste like it a bit. No fresh parmesan cheese served but there was a shaker bottle on the table. Not impressed. I had a Healthy Choice Chicken Parmigiana for lunch and that for sure had some flavor believe it or not. The rolls were nice and warm yet the only thing Italian about it was the cheese that was sprinkled on it, fresh garlic in oil would have been a nice touch.

Buon Ristorante, Alimento Grande!!!

GOOD RESTAURANT, GREAT FOOD!!!

I am not big on Italian food with tomato sauces because the sauce tends to be heavy and/or bitter. But the Chicken Cacciatore with al dente penne pasta is so good that I became addicted! "Bitter"? NO - like BUTTER!! The sauce, with mushrooms, onions, and peppers, is light, well-seasoned, Like nothing that I've ever tasted. The Caccitore is a special and not always available but if the kitchen is not busy, the chef has been willing to make a special order for me. I often get the Chicken & Sausage Cacciatore because the sausage there is excellent. It is also great on a Bi Ba's pizza, another favorite of mine.

But let's talk about the real jewel in the crown of this restaurant - the ROLLS!! Oh, my God!! Not the usual log of hard Italian bread placed on your table to keep you busy while waiting for the entrée. These rolls are hot from the oven, dusted with a tasty Parmesan and Italian spice mixture. They are worth the trip alone. Once you gorge yourself on the rolls, you will just have enough energy to ask your server to wrap up the rest of your meal to go. And it will taste just as good the next day, after the flavors have really melded. Don't worry about the pedestrian desserts (Tiramisu and Cannoli) - you won't have room for anything else because of the good size portions.

The atmosphere is one of a warm neighborhood establishment with lots of people and noise. Great for families. (Not a place to propose marriage unless your intended is passionate about food and hockey!!) The decor is less Italian than sports bar but you are not going there to count the sconces on the walls. It's the food that rules!! I have been going on and off for 8 years and Bi Ba's has never disappointed me. ENJOY!

  • Pros: The Rolls! Great pizza! Nice "first date" place.
  • Cons: Little noisy at times. Some of the best dishes are specials which aren't always available.

Average at best

by ereid13 at Citysearch

After reading the wonderful reviewes here about this restaurant my fiance and I visited this restaurant. The waitress was average. We ordered our dinners and were brought some fresh parmesan coated rolls. These were the highlight of the meal. The salads arrived sometime later and the in house dressings were average at best. The lasagna that was ordered was lackluster and the sauce was too sweet for our tastes. Chef Boyardee could have made it. The bacon pasta dish was flavorless and needed more flavor in general. We felt that this restuarant did not have much to offer in terms of atmosphere. It was noisy with children crying, and televisions blaring. However, we liked the family owned style of the restaurant overall and that it seemed small and cozy. But the decor leads one to believe that they are in a sports bar, not an italian restaurant.

  • Pros: fast seating
  • Cons: noisy

Best Kept Secret in Metro ATL!!!

by zacpope at Citysearch

I have eaten here many times, and I am highly impressed every time! We have never waited more than 15 minutes for a table, surprising, b/c it seems like their's never an empty seat in the whole place. Their rolls are to die for and every App. on the menu is FANTASTIC (try the eggplant!). Entrees are served in humongous portions and are never disappointing. Have never made it to dessert, but I hear the canolis are good! You MUST TRY THIS PLACE - better than than the high $$ italian rest. downtown!!!

  • Pros: ROLLS!!!, APPETIZERS!!!, ENTREES!!!!

Good Unpretentious Itallian

by normal at Citysearch

I've eaten here a couple of times and could become a regular. It is very good, casual, neighborhood Italian; with reasonable prices. If you compare it to high end high price Itallian, it falls short on ambiance and food quality. This would be an unfair comparison. I eat at those high end places 4-5 times a year, and they certainly are appreciated. I eat at places like Bi Ba's dozens of times a year. I appreciate them more.

  • Pros: good quality food, fair prices, casual
  • Cons: , fairly crowded
