Great Neighborhood Bar

We've been going to Melton's for years. Yes, the food is consistently good, BUT...we're ready for a change in the menu. Take a clue from the U Joint, Corner pub, Brick Store. It's getting to the point where everything tastes the same. Prices are a little high, too, compared to other places, but hey, Melton's has a monopoly because of its location.
Great and affordable beer list, good service, but stay away on the "Kid's night". Sorry, but I can't take listening to screaming brats when I go out for dinner.
Oh yeah, Tony is the BEST waiter! He makes the experience worthwhile!

Casual atmosphere with good food and beer

My family has been going to Melton's for years and we find it consistently good. It is very family-friendly, but in a low-key way. My kids say that Melton's mac n cheese is the best anywhere. The staff is friendly and many of them have been there for years. The food is good and there are always several different beers on tap. There are a couple big screen TVs for watching sports. It is just an easy, neighborhood spot that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Melton's App & Tap is a cool little bar in Dectaur, GA. The outside of the building is a bit strange; it is located in a small shopping center. The patio is really great and the food is quite good. It is not a place I would normally go to based on appearances, but it turned out to be a great little place.
Best Burger in Metro Atlanta

Forget the Vortex! Melton's burger is the best in Atlanta. The waffle fries with the "mystery" dipping sauce are a perfect match for the burger. The service is always fast and friendly and the food is always fresh and hot.

this place is family-friendly (a pro or a con, depending on how you feel about children) but my bf and i always belly-up to the bar and hope that tony, mike or carrie will be behind it. the menu is simple, consistent bar fare. i only wish they served liquor as well. there are so many regulars that it takes a while to become one here, but once you are, you can expect exceptional service over the standard good service they always give. every time we go in, it feels like the staff is happy to see you. where does that happen anymore?

- Cons: avoid family-hour if you dont like kids

I bought a condo in the neighborhood about 5 months ago and during the search my realtor turned me on to Melton's. The cheeseburgers are fantastic as are the Irish nachos. The service is usually friendly, though the staff can be a little clique-ish.
- Pros: Cheeseburgers, steak fries and Irish nachos
- Cons: "Family friendly" seems to mean kids are loud and run wild.

I love Melton's! I have been going to Melton's for years for great food and a wonderful atmosphere. The beer selection is devine and the staff will always help you out with the extensive list of bottles and drafts. I almost always go in the evening because the crowd is more relaxed. I get a negative vibe from all the nurses that grab lunch there. You can hear them compaining from the table over. Try the Buffalo tenders and you won't be disappointed.

- Cons: Kid's night and luch crowd

everytime i try this restaurant, the wait staff is engrossed in their personal conversations and not particularly interested in providing excellent customer service. the food is basic, as is the atmosphere.

Big menu with tons of delicious options, big beer selection with seasonal choices, big screen TVs for enjoying a game, big patio, three big dining rooms . . . Melton's has it all for a place that looks so small. Comfortable atmosphere and good service add to the experience. Overall thumbs up.

I go there with my wife at least once month to enjoy an order of Irish nachos (double order of Ranch), Hot Chicken tenders with veggies on the side and a pitcher of beer For years weve been making this trip and never got tired of this place or this order.
Choose time to visit it wisely I wouldnt go there until after kids go to bed. Otherwise an occasional family with screaming kids might ruin your evening. Dont get me wrong it doesnt happen all the time, but keep in mind that family friendly is sometimes a flaw (especially if you dont have kids).
Overall its the perfect bar food joint. The service is good, the food is divine, and 90% of the time the atmosphere is very nice as well. Forget Righteous Room, Highlander, and The Local Meltons is the real bar food paradise.
