Fabulous Chinese Food
by jodin50 at Citysearch
I've been going to the Golden Buddha for more than 20 years. The food is a sort of Chinese-Korean mix that works wonderfully well. It is "stick-to-your-ribs" fare that is generally superb. There have been a few lapses in quality over the years, but it is 95% excellent and a fantastic value. They always serve twice as much as a normal person can eat, so there is always enough to take home and make another meal from.
The Empress Chicken is to die for.
- Pros: Fantastic Food
- Cons: None
Horrible Chinese, Do not order
by krbou at Citysearch
Crab Rangoon - soggy and tasteless. Mongolian Beef - rehydrated beef jerky. Steamed Potstickers - bland meat nuggets in a wonton. Basil Spring Rolls - just basil, need I say more. Veg Spring Rolls - oily vegetable imposters. Ask yourself before you go here if you really want Chinese because you won't get here.

Best Chinese Food in Atlanta
by sscarbro at Citysearch
OK so they say this food is Americanized. I still say it s the best Chinese food you can get in this city. I went to one of the highly-touted restaurants on Buford Highway and the Mongolian beef and pot stickers did not even come close to the Golden Buddha's. Try the sizzling San-Shan soup or the hot & sour soup. This place has been here since I was a child, but after trying many, many other Chinese resturants in Atlanta, the Golden Buddha is still the best! Friendly, fast service and good take-out too!
Golden Buddha is THE place for Chinese in Atlanta
by donnyraymond2 at Citysearch
Golden Buddha is THE place for Chinese in Atlanta. Get the Princess Shrimp, a batter fried shrimp dish or Beef with Plum sauce: two dishes that can't be beat. For appetizers, the fried Pot Stickers are simply products of some Chinese culinary dream, and shouldn't be missed.
The staff is a congenial bunch and quick to refill your water or to get you another ice cold Tsingtao
Highly Recommended.
- Pros: great food, congenial staff, ample parking
- Cons: sometimes loud, no lunch on Sun., only beer and wine
Campy fun and carryout for diners who like their Chinese food American-style.

The Scene
Dozens of Buddha statues smile down upon diners in this quirky but comfortable main drag chain restaurant. Vinyl booths in baby blues and peachy pinks lead up to a fascinating Day-Glo plastic food display. Translucent window treatments keep camp in, Clairmont Road out.
The Food
Predictably Americanized, the big attractions at Golden Buddha are the flaming pupu platters and sticky neon orange sweet and sour dishes. Fans of authentic Chinese food will doubtless be dissapointed by sticky steamed dumplings or Szechuan vegetables in sodium-heavy sauce. If you're looking for a safer bet, try shrimp in a light, wine-flavored lobster sauce. Better still is the shrimp and broccoli with a brown sauce loaded with hints of ginger and garlic and spicy red pepper flakes.
Lovin' It

I've been going to this restaurant for several years now. They always have very good service, consistently good food and a casual setting. It's great for large groups, the wait staff is very patient and cooperative. It's wonderful. Right down to the big gold buddha once you enter the restaurant.
Not worth it!!

It's nothing special at all and it's not traditional Chinese food anyway. Price is way too high compared to its quality!
We are not going back there any more.
overdone!

I'm really tired of hearing that Golden Buddha is a great Chinese restaurant. I hae never been impreseed by their food. It's just regular old Chinese, nothing special, and especially not to the point it could be ranked in the same list as P.F. Chang's! On top of that, Buddha's way overpriced. It's not at all worth it.

This is a great little chinese restaurant. There is nothing exceptional about it that makes is top-10 on anyone's list, but if you are looking for good food, good service, and reasonable portions at a reasonable price, then this is your place. Lunch is quick and a great place for a relaxed business dinner.
- Pros: food, portions
