As someone with a multitude of culinary exploits in Arizona, Southern California, and Mexico, I was initially skeptical that I could find anything outside of the Buford Hwy. corridor that was comparable in term of authentic Mexican cuisine and dished out at a reasonable price in the metro Atlanta area. Well, Taqueria Los Hermanos quells my doubts while at the same time raising my expectations of Mexican food in the Atlanta area; not to mention the atmosphere is a tad more refined and enjoyable than what can be found on Buford Hwy-- thankfully without sacrificing any authenticity. The tilapia fish tacos with banana peppers are as good as the anything you will find on the Baja coast, the sauce a real nice meld of spices. The Asada (beef for the gringos) tacos too, are excellent; always nicely cut strips of beef in a nicely warmed flour tortilla. And if you go a night the dinner specials are always excellent, the grilled shrimp dish is fantastic, and leave room for dessert. The bread pudding with a snippet of tequila is a winning way to cap the night off. Or you can toss another Negro Modelo down the pipe and feel good all over. No hard stuff, so no margaritas, but still this place is worth making a drive to eat at. Yes, it is that good.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Enjoyable Dining Room Ambiance, Great Food
Cons: No hard stuff, so no margaritas.
