Wow, this store USED to be a gem! The new ownership has really caused a downswing in what used to be an adorable and eclectic store. Now, it is drab, with crabby employees and a dour, sour, and overwhelmed looking store owner to over see them all. Beyond the boring atmosphere ( no music and just plain uninviting!) the merchandise is nothing new. Some of the art is interesting, but certainly not worth what the're asking for. It's time for those roots to be pulled up and something new planted in it's place!
Pros: Lots of other cool things to do
Cons: Parking is a nightmare

Square Roots is an excellent source of folk art by local artists. They also have great gifts for any occasion and the fresh flowers are a bonus!

Great place to get that gift for the person who has everything. One of a kind items and funky gifts makes shopping a pleasure. The staff is extremely helpful as well.

what a great unique store! i always spend way too much money, but get the best original gifts for my friends and family. i always find something different. They always know me by name when i drop by and that is a plus.

Every experience at Square Roots is a pleasure. A steadfast menu of local artist's works is nicely mixed with seasonal treats. It can't be beat for its tasteful selction of birthday treats, holiday goodies and a delicious arrangement of flowers - aptly complemented by the friendly and helpful staff.

Great store with great variety. Friendly dog for the kids to play with. Near great pubs.... Perfect for gift giving, especially when you don't know what to give....

Square Roots is a wonderful addition to the growing retail stores in the City of Decatur. I love it because it showcases local artists at affordable prices. Plus, the small and cute knick-knacks around the store make great birthday gifts for friends and family. It never fails....everytime I give someone a present that came from Square Roots they absolutely love it!
