I visited Chicken & Waffles twice while I was in Atlanta. The wait time they told us both times we went in was a hour and a half but we didnt wait no more than 30 mins. There aren't many seat's to sit in while your waiting to be seated. We were a party of 4. Our waitress was very nice. We ordered our food as soon as we sat down and it was out to us in 10 mins. We never had to flag anyone down to refill our drinks. When they saw we needed refills they just got our glasse's and refilled our drink's. I ordered the the boneless chicken smothered with white rice and gravy. I also had collard green's, corn bread, mac-n-cheese, and a peach waffle. All of it was delicious. Not to much seasoning or salt like most resturants do there food. The second time I went I ordered the catfish with a double waffle. The second time i went it was more people there, plus they had 2 security guard's then. The music was R&B and it flowed with the atmosphere. People that were out of town (like myself) were at there table taking pictures to remember the experience they had at Chicken & Waffles. I advise you if you ever come to downtown atalnta you have to stop by and give it a try. Don't be turned away by the crowd or wait time. Trust me, It's worth the wait. Seriously! Bring your family, girlfriend, friends and who ever else and enjoy yourself.
Pros: Excellent atmosphere & Food
Cons: Hell Parking

This has been my favorite restaurant for years! I love the ambiance, the service, and most importantly the food. I love their fried chicken, yams, mac&cheese, and greens. There is usually a wait, but they seat their customers pretty quickly. Don't let a crowd outside deter you from visiting. There are only a couple of seats inside for waiting. This place does not suit large groups and they do not serve alcoholic beverages. The music is usually set to tasteful R&B and the staff is very friendly and frantic.
Pros: Food, staff, ambiance, music
Cons: waiting

I really don’t know who has more soul: Gladys Knight or her chicken and collard greens? I am a 70s baby, but my appetite is contemporary so I’ll choose the latter! Even though Gladys Knight is notorious for serving their customers well into 2am, there’s no better way to start a productive day than to fill up on some chicken and waffles! With the exception of omelet’s, their breakfast selection is pretty limited, but make no mistake about it, they do exceptionally well with what their working with.
Pros: great food quality
Cons: elongated, sometimes frustrating waiting in line

You have to try the catfish. I also enjoyed a waffle it was awesome. The parking is terrible but the reward to your stomach is well worth it.
Pros: good food
Cons: parking is limited

In a city with a heck of a lot of fried chicken, Gladys Knight & Ron are serving up my absolute favorite. You might get a bit of sticker shock if you are used to sampling the plentiful fast-food chicken fare in our city, but the juiciness and crunch are worth it.
Pros: Chicken, service, ambience
Cons: A bit pricier than you'd think

I like Gladys and Ron's. I have had everything from chicken and waffles to salmon and veggies. It has all been tasty. I have been to both locations (Downtown and Stone Crest) and the service was good enough for a 20% tip. I have one minor issue. I think they should get a new butter for the waffles. The waffles are good, but I think a new butter would make them the bomb. That is just my pet peeve. Otherwise, I'll be back with my wife. Chicken and waffles baby!
Pros: Good food, folks and fun.
Cons: Needs a different butter for the waffles.

I've been wanting for sometime now to go to the restauraunt, fortunatly within my busy schedule my girlfriend and I were able too. We went on a Fridat night, the wait was a little long, but it was worth it. I must say it seems as if whoever chose the staff did an awesome job because everyone of the waiters including the bus boy was fine!!!!! The food was great it wasn't overpriced like "RARE" which was an absolte fluke. My only downfall about the place was that they didn't serve liquor. After a hard day at work my girlfriend and I really enjoyed our meal and the of course the cuties!!!! Single Women of Atlanta "YOU WANT TO BE HERE"!!!
Pros: food and eyecandy
Cons: no alchol

The staff offers great customer service but honestly, the food is bland. I ordered the Midnight Train. This is the case every time that I've visited over the years. Huge portions but lacks seasoning/spices. Recently, I ordered the Southern Sautee and that was seasoned well. I would recommend more chicken being that this dish is basically a stir fry.

I had the worst service of my life at Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles. The lack of respect from the servers was disgusting. I came with 6 people and we were told it would be an hour and a half wait for us to be seated. After waiting two hours, the waitress asked us to split up. If we wanted to split up, why would we have waited so long? That request was ridiculous. We realized we'd probably never get a table any other way, so we agreed to split. One table sat down and the other group was told to stand by their table and wait for it to be cleaned. They stood by the table no less than 15 minutes and asked 3 times for someone to clean it. In terms of service, the waitress came by the table twice, placed items down and did not say a word. Then no one brought us silverware with our meal. We again asked three different people for silverware, before going to get some ourselves. After all this, when the bill came, we were charged an extra gratuity as though we were a party of six. We clearly split in two groups and sat at seperate tables, so we did not understand why we were charged as a group of 6. The manager, William Reid, offered no proper explanation and said it was not up for debate. He offered to take 50 percent off due to poor service, but then he only took half off for one table. Which begs the question, if we were a party of 6, how can he give one table a discount but not the entire group? How can he charge seperate prices if we were one party? He argued with us again and was very rude and disrespectful. He kept trying to tell us only one table had bad service - yet we all had the same waitress, and the second table was the one who stood by the dirty table, which we made him aware of. IN SHORT. DON'T EVER GO HERE! THE FOOD WASN'T EVEN THAT GOOD FOR US TO HAVE WAITED SO LONG! YOUR MOM PROBABLY MAKES BETTER CHICKEN!
Pros: none
Cons: parking, service, taste

Being from NYC, and going to some of the best soul food places in Harlem, we have found a home here in Atlanta. Last week, we went to a nearby place that serves soul food tapas? Not sure what was meant by that, and it was not very good. This place is the real deal. No small amounts of food here. My wife said it was better than any chicken and waffles in Harlem. And I agree. The mac 'n cheese, greens, and we even ordered cornbread, was just great. Come hungry, and get some real soul food.
Pros: Real Soul Food!
Cons: Wished They Took Reservations!
