Ms Ann's is an INSTITUTION!! We have been going here since the 1990's. Everytime we go to Atlanta we MUST go there. Her restaurant is the quissessential gastronomical experience with attitude to boot. If you want a meal for the family that is clean and always made fresh right before your eyes go to Ann' Snack Bar. If I order a sandwich it takes me adout 4 days minimum to eat it. My husband can usually down his in about 2 - 3 days. (No Kidding!) Ms Ann is a very calm Southern Lady. As long as you mind your manners, don't cut the line (which you cannot see), or curse in her place you will have no problem. But if you break her rules she will cut you down in no time. (Remember your grandmother's kitchen rules?) I think the is most of the problem with some peolpe going there, they are used to the me syndrome and doing what they want to do rather then getting along with others. This a must visit. The character alone gives you your money's worth. I cannot recommend any one item. Everyting on the menu is great. Use your own palate and discretion to place your order. But the main thing is when you get there ask who was the last to come in and follow that person, do not skip!!

Pros: The food!

Cons: The wait, but that also apart of the ambience.

This place is truly an experience. For me, it was more than the burger, it was the experience. The name should really be called " TheBurger Show". Never experience anything like this. I went for the first time and much to my surprise. I was one the one's who was totally embarrased. The burgers are really good but,the wait does take patience, it you are going with someone who is impatient be prepared and take a book to read or a game of chess. Had I know that it would be that long, I would have been more prepared for the wait. I took my husband and the only reason he stayed was the crowd gathered outside told him it was worth the wait. I would definetly go again and regardless to what anyone says it is worth the wait.

Pros: prices are great.

Cons: long wait, parking.

FROM THE BURGER TO THE CHILI CHEESE SPLIT (A HOT LINK, DEEP FRIED) , YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG. I LOVE MS. ANN, THE FIRST TIME I WENT, I LISTENED TO EVERYBODY ELSE AND WAS TO SCARED TO DO ANYTHING BUT ORDER. NOW EVERYTIME I GO I GET GOOD CONVERSATION WITH MY FOOD. IF YOU NEVER BEEN I SUGGEST YOU HURRY, MS. ANN HAS BEEN TALKING ABOUT RETIREMENT FOR YEARS. SHE DOES NOT WANT THE HOOPLA SO SHE JUST PLANS TO CLOSE ONE DAY AND NOT COME BACK. (SHE'S GOING TO DISNEY WORLD) LOL. JUST A LITTLE F.Y.I. MS.ANN IS NOT MEAN. RESPECT HER AND YOU WILL BE FINE. DON'T LET HER AGE FOOL YOU, SHE'S FAR FROM SLOW. WE HAVE HAD CONVERSATIONS ABOUT EVERYTHING FROM POLITICS TO THE ECONOMY. NOW THE MAN THE HELPS HER OUT FROM TIME TO TIME IS HER BROTHER, HE WORKS FOR HER PART TIME BUT YOU WILL ONLY GET BASIC CONVERSATION FROM HIM. THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE JUST TAKES PATIENCE AND COMMON SENSE. THE PEOPLE WHO GET PUT OUT OR CURSED OUT DESERVE IT. IF YOU WALK UP AND YOU SEE 10 PEOPLE SITTING OUTSIDE WITH NO FOOD, WHY WOULD YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST GO IN? COME ON NOW. IF YOU EVER WONDERED WHY NO ONE SAYS ANYTHING WHEN YOU WALK BY? CAUSE YOUR GOING TO BE PART OF THE ENTERTAINMENT, IT'S FUNNY TO SEE...

Pros: THE FOOD

Cons: THE WAIT, BRING A BOOK

This place is classic! Ann is Ann. Her rules are important and the food is worth the wait!! My husband and I read about Ann's Snack Bar in an Atlanta Magazine years ago, we went for the famous burger and got a HUGE great burger and a really cool experience! If you are looking for a fake OTP dining experience, you are NOT going to find that at Ann's! If you are nice to Ann, Ann is nice to you and have I mentioned how delicious her burgers are? Come Hungry and Leave FULL! You will love it!!

Pros: a true experience and a great burger!

Cons: small inside, but that is half the charm

First and last time! I drove all the way from Gwinnett Co. and this was not worth the trip. Parking is horrible, I had to park at the package store. The inside is dirty! Ms. Ann has a ugly attitude, and is unapproachable. If you are going to spend your money for anything it shouldn't be this. If you want to be treated like trash, wait 2 hours for a burger, and get cursed out, then this is the place for you! Old school or New school, you should still show some respect to your patrons. There were no visible rules. I've eaten burgers all of my life, and this would have been the worst due to customer service. You would have to be an idiot to constantly spend your money for this type of service. That shhhhhhh is not pretty, or attractive.

Pros: Get something outside Gwinnett Co..,

Cons: Passed up several great restaurants for nothing!!!!! Thanks.

I have been to Ann's Snack Shop about 4 times and I have respectively waited for each of them. For people that expect a Burger King or Fudruckers experience you will not get that at Ann's. Her shop is more than a place to eat, it is an experience. There are rules to be followed and if you don't like them you don't need to eat there. The rules have been the same for well over 30 years. Her burger is by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. It is worth the money and the wait. Everything is fresh to order and she literally cuts onions over the burger as it cooks. Is this somewhere you should go every week? No because it would not be healthy, but it is great to treat yourself every now and then to eat great food and see a legend of Atlanta.

Pros: The food

Cons: the parking

Ann is not the nicest person but she keeps it real. The burger was a good old fashioned buger which we Geed these days. I would take her any day over McDonlad's and Wendy's. Ground chuck or beef nothing with steroids or soy meat. She makes it right in front of you.

Pros: Quality meat

Cons: Wait time is ridiculous, no good parking, confusing order process

Okay, first and foremost arrive early. Ann's opens at 11:30, but you can kind of show up earlier than that and sit on the available chairs and benches in the screened in porch. After that prepare to eat what is clearly the best burger I've ever had! I'm a burger connoisseur, I've had everything from Mcdonald's double quarter pounder with cheese, to The Blue Grill's FOUR pound cheese burger in Mcdonough. Hopefully when you're there, you'll meet a few regulars that can help you with the process. Ann's only seats 8 at a time. If you arrive and see people in front of you, just ask who was last and wait. But DO NOT go up the stairs to ask Ann anything you WILL be embarrassed to the delight of the other patrons around you. Enjoy!!

Pros: FOOD!!

Cons: THE WAIT!!

As a first time experience, I can now validate some adjectives gleaned from previous reviews: Collosal (burgers and wait time!), Unique (only serves eight customers at one time), and Delicious (best burgers I have ever tasted). Arrive early or late, you will be there for the long haul! I proudly strutted into the restaurant and up the stairs to the door where I could people sitting on stools. Just as I was about to open the door, 8 people sitting in the wait area before me said calmly, "I wouldn't do that if I were you" I kindly thanked them for the tip and sat down for what would be a 4 hour wait. I did not want to provide the entertainment for them had Ms. Ann stopped me at the door and asked me not to enter and wait my turn. However, I was soon entertained by others who met Ms. Ann's wrath, as they broke one of her rules--which are posted! The conversations with customers, anticipation, and laughing at those Ms. Ann corrected, somehow became a part of the whole eating experience. Eight of us eventually marched in like soldiers scrambling to claim a bunk as we grabbed a stool to watch Ms. Ann do her thing. Disappointed that Ms. Ann did not prepare our food, as she took a break, she would lend a watchful eye to her helper, who was little grumpy in a big way. No conversations are held with Ms. Ann, but I did manage to get some thank you's in and a few questions answered about our order. I ordered the famous "Neighborhood" Burger- no disappointment to my palate. A delicate blend of seasonings left me wondering if I had missed something, as we watched the burgers being prepared. I will consider it a little magic smothered in a lot experience and technique. I recommend Ann's Snack to anyone who can appreciate an authentic experience with interesting conversations from a diversity of people. Don't let the location and talk of Ms. Ann stop you from sinking your mouth into the juiciest, tastiest burger around. I thought she was great!

Pros: Total Experience with Great Burgers

Cons: Bring a jacket for the long wait in the fall-winter; parking

I was 9 months pregnant I kid you not, I had one of her bugers @ lunchtime and went into labor that night. I told my friend when Ms .Ann put that burger down in front of me, I told her I going to the hospital when I eat this. 4am Dekalb Med were I ended with a 7Ib boy. It delivers

Pros: Go Burger

Cons: Not enough room for everyone
