Awesome Wine List

by rchlptl8815 at Citysearch

I'm certainly no expert on wines, but over the last few years I've started to develop an appreciation for all the things that can be done with grapes. I find I really enjoy trying new types of grapes or trying wines from different parts of the world. This restaurant is the perfect place for an inquisitive palate. The wine selection is massive, with wines from all over Italy and from all over the world, and the prices are very reasonable. I try to sample at least one new wine every time I dine there, and I urge any other blossoming oenophiles to do the same!

Always a great time

by djenkins99 at Citysearch

My husband and I used to dine at Portofino all the time until we moved away from Atlanta a couple years ago. Recently, we were back in the city and decided to go back. The best thing about this restaurant is that even though the menu had changed completely, the food was just as good as we'd remembered. It is rare, even for the best restaurants, to be so consistently enjoyable, and yet we have never had a bad meal there.

My wife and I have been dining here for years and have always enjoyed the the experience, we even held my father's 70th birthday party for about thirty people at Portofino. They even let us set up a special menu in advance!

-Very Accommodating of Large Parties

-Excellent Food and Wine

-Cozy Indoor Dining and a Beautiful Patio

Friendly Bartender, Great Food!

by jbillingsly at Citysearch

Took a couple of colleagues out for a business dinner. The bartender recommended a Zinfandel with a spanish name that was awesome. The pork chop was perfectly tender, and my coworkers enjoyed their veal and fish as well. The pricing was very reasonable: $120 for starters, dinner, and wine for the 3 of us. This is a great setting for a relaxed business dinner.

Great local restaraunt

by qwert2377 at Citysearch

We were visiting Atlanta and staying at the St Regis, when we stumbled across Portofino within walking distance of our hotel. Our server seemed very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine list and helped us pick the perfect wines to go with our dinners, which were delicious. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!!

Bad food and service

by CSMobileUser4 at Citysearch

My husband and I had dinner here over the weekend. Not good.

Our food tasted "old" and the service was slow. The place was not busy (now we see why) yet it took about 15 for a few glasses of wine. We won't be back. We will stick to the real restaurants.

I'm Hooked

by HMeeney24 at Citysearch

I found a Portofino certificate in my Welcome Mat packet and thought that I would give it a try. I sat at the bar and had a few appetizers and some wine, and I had the best evening. I had a beet salad and an eggplant parmesan that were both very tasty. Matt, the bartender, gave great wine recommendations, and was very sweet. I was introduced to a couple regulars and even a few servers. I didn't want to leave, but it was a school night. This is going to be my neighborhood haunt.

  • Pros: Very friendly staff, reasonable prices
  • Cons: None yet

What a SHAME

by CSMobileUser2 at Citysearch

My wife and another couple had dinner over the weekend and we all agree, "What a Shame." The waitress didnt know what she was talking about and the food was God-awful. We have been many times in the past and enjoyed this spot. We won't be back any time soon and will be sure to tell friends about the Restaurant that was top notch only a year or so ago. Maybe a new management team came in or the rumors are true and their chef has left.

on its last leg ?

by CSMobileUser at Citysearch

myself and my boy toy, another couple and one friend who just showed out of the buckhead blue...anyway....im not sure who took over the management at portofino . But things just are not right...the flights???? The fantastic monthly special. We got salmon that was ...well

we thought our salad was a bit "dressed".

Our waiter had no idea what planet he was on....another waiter; perhaps Zenny? Took control ov the table.

The food was not that great. I'm sorry to say.
