Gay video bar rolls out the red carpet.
by Contributor
In Short
Oscars Atlanta proudly displays its own style and sophistication by highlighting the hottest and newest non-stop music videos on huge video walls that illuminate regulars and fun-lovers who happen into Ansley Square. An oblong bar fills the center of the room with a mix of men and women mingling around it, clutching drinks and socializing between songs. On Tuesday nights, everyone joins in the chorus of their favorite video show tunes for Showtune Tuesday, which has become an Atlanta institution. Conversation here is instantly more entertaining than those annoying pop-up videos. All of the on-and-off-screen divas gather here for a quick mingle and a "drinky poo." The handsome gents, however, are always the feature presentation. Flirting at the Oscars can always land an opportunity for a lot more than a golden, anatomically correct statue.
Sober!
by BettyFordNot
I've been going to Oscar's for many years and would never classify this club as sterile or generic. Courteous and Professional are two words that come to mind. Through the years, Kevin has always been at the front of the bar always consistent, sober, and I his smile is always appreciated after a long week at the office. He pours, by far, the best Cosmos in the city and his Key Lime Pie Martini is divine (and for half the week costs $7 or less). My friends and I anticipate the weekend before the week is half over. Brian is also a gem and I adore his quiet demeanor. Always pleasant and seems to be a genuine and sweet man.
I rarely venture to the other end of the bar as I have been treated rather poorly by the bartender that works there several nights a week. His pricing isn't consistent, and neither is his personality. About the only thing you can count on is him drunk, hateful, and obnoxious. I can not understand why the management continues to ignore his attitude and insulting outbursts.
I highly recommend this Atlanta "one-of-a-kind" hot spot to anyone who can appreciate a well made drink, a mostly professional staff, great music videos, and good conversation with both bartenders and fellow patrons! You may even catch a glimpse of Betty Ford lecturing in the back!
- Pros: The professional staff and wallet friendly cocktails
- Cons: inconsistency of the staff
Best ride is in the back!

I am new to atlanta and a friend recommended Oscar's. Upon entering the bar I found it to be kinda sterile and generic, until I made it to the back of the bar. OMG! The bartenders, (Terry and Anthony )were having so much fun together and with the crowd that you couldnt help but have a great time too! AAAAAA+++++
trendy video bar

We arrived at this bar around 2 in the morning and we were suprised that the staff was very friendly at such a late hour. We had a couple of drinks and had a nice conversation with one of the patrons at the bar. The bartenders were accomidating and friendly, drink prices were resonable as well. Great music and videos playing even at the end of the night. I would recomend this bar if you are going out with a group of people, or by yourself. Not to worry about clicks. Everybody that we ran into was nore than willing to strick up a converation with us. I would recommend this place to everybody.
- Pros: friendly staff and patrons, 26 video screnes
Oscar's Is Showing Its Age
by piedparkatl
Oscar's used to be a great neighborhood bar but seems to have gone somewhat downhill in recent months. Some of the bartenders there, such as Ellis and Kevin, are terrific, but one by the name of Terry (?) has been rude to a number of customers. Management has been made aware of this and evidently has chosen not to take any action. Music videos are the same ones that been shown for years, and that gets tiresome if you have been a regular patron. The bar could really use some more up-to-date smoke removal equipment in the a/c system. A couple of personnel changes and some new videos could get this place back on track.
- Pros: Ellis and Kevin
- Cons: Old videos, too much smoke
Upscale Bar, Drinks, & Men

Without a doubt, the darn best little bar in midtown. My partner and I have been going since they opened. Nice place to meet nice people. Good quality drinks, service, and those deluxe snacks! The hosts, Randy, Michael, Ellis, and Kevin, always make us feel at home. Rotaing Art Collections for sale!
- Pros: Great Drinks and Bartenders!
- Cons: Not Open On Sunday!
Great Hang Out

The Oscars is a great place to hang out before the major party of the night. Drinks are good, but sort of pricey. Also, the place is too smokey. Can't wait for the GA smoking ban!
A Nice Place
by tmxatl37
The Oscars is a nice small neighborhood type bar with an upscale feel. This is where you go if you want an expertly made Cosmo or Apple Martini. The service is top notch all the way. It's more of a bar where small groups congregate, not really a cruising place like Burkharts across the lot. Showtunes on Tues nights still draw a crowd but it's starting to get old hat and maybe they need something new to jazz it up a bit.
- Pros: upscale, great bartenders, value
Just a walk-thru
by peachstatebear
This bar is a bit stuffy for me but it's always nice to walk through, have one drink and move on. The bartenders are nice. The restrooms are inadequate. But, overall a nice touch to Atlanta.
- Pros: glitzy, nice staff
- Cons: small, stiff
Class Act
by RHarris
This bar is one of a kind as far as the quality of drinks and the best bartenders around Atlanta. The Oscars should be the training school for all other bars..they could learn the meaning of friendly, courteious service. The bar has good mix of men of all ages.
- Pros: Friendly, Good crowd, Reasonable
- Cons: Parking, Too Smokey, Not open on Sunday's
