Bacon ummm!
by jag47
Always a great breakfast! I could eat the Kirkwood everyday for breakfast.
- Pros: Best bacon in town
Very Good
by demianoz
I went with my girlfriend this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I'm very tough on food but sometimes there is nothing better than some homegrown brunch. Omelette for her, panini for me..excellent. Unlike the other reviewers, our service was extremely fast and cordial--it was one-thirty--so maybe the lull in diners had something to do with that. If they tell you the mac & cheese isn't ready, wait for it. Sooooooo good. And this comes from a Mississippi boy.
- Pros: The mac
- Cons: None
Wonderful find

I'm very impressed with Sun in my Belly. The chef's choices on food pairings, spices, stuffings, and other design elements mean that every dish is unique. Further, you can grab most items to-go or have them reheated on the premises. My wife and I have also enjoyed the breakfast selections on Saturday mornings.
- Pros: Unique dishes, nice breakfast/brunch
- Cons: Uncomfortable seating
Tasty Brunch
by laynardo
I love this place for brunch. They do something with the eggs which makes them extra yummy. Their menu is super creative, borderline gourmet. They have great coffee as well- bonus. The service is suuuuppppeeerrr slow; so make sure you have 2 hours to spare.
- Pros: creative menu
- Cons: slow service and food prep
Great Brunch, Fresh Ingredients, Excellent Specials
by kokoATL
My husband and I have been to Sun in my Belly many times and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and obviously made with fresh ingredients. The omelette special is ALWAYS fabulous as is the Kirkwood breakfast, and the oh so delicious scrambled egg pressed panini with hook cheddar. I did get the french toast once, and it was OK. I like a more traditional french toast. Another bonus...out of the many times we've been (on Saturday or Sunday mornings) we've only had to wait once...for about 5 minutes. I took away one star because there is one server who always seems like he just woke up, and is a bit slow. Other than that, this place is great!
- Pros: Food, Ambience
- Cons: parking, the one sleepy server
Great food. Slow disorganized service.

As would be expected from a catering company running a restaurant, the food is inventive and consistently good; but the service is chaotic and slow. There appears to be no established efficient service protocol in seating guests or taking orders. Instead there is a loose group of wait staff that seem to be all over the place. Bottom line. A great place to go if you're not starving.
- Pros: The food. The ambiance
- Cons: Parking. Slow service
Great spot for breakfast!
by douglasvilledave
My wife and I have been exploring the best breakfast spots in and around Atlanta. Sun In My Belly had been recommended, so we decided to go check it out. We certainly weren't disappointed. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the decor inside, the food and the service were tremendous. The stuffed Challah french toast, piled high with fresh fruit almost needed no syrup, and the Kirkwood breakfast was a unique, savory home run. The menu for lunch and supper looks wonderful, too, but we felt that it was well worth the drive from Douglasville to experience the culinary artistry we found at Sun In My Belly.
- Pros: Food, uniquely created and artistically presented. Great service.
- Cons: Parking is a little tough to find, but we expected that

Being in the Kirkwood neighborhood, we have been a big supporter of Sun in my Belly in good times and bad. We are so pleased they have improved their customer service over the last year. Our favorite thing about them is and always has been, of course, the food. While they are out of things from time to time, everything is always, fresh, fresh, fresh. The brunch is absolutely amazing although on the weekends you'll probably wait but usually no more than 10min. The staff and owners actually take the time to get to know you and I've seen the owners personally wait on tables/customers, which is unheard of in the restaurant industry. Kudos, Sun in my Belly for weathering the storm.
- Pros: Best Brunch in Atlanta
- Cons: Sometimes a wait on weekends
