Terrible customer service over the phone
by SushiRoxMySox at Citysearch
I was looking for a specific item that I saw online which provided a number to call an idividual store to check availability.
The lady that I got was impatient, testy, and kept interrupting my answers to her questions. I wouldn't want to shop there in person if she handled me so rudely over the phone.
I also called Nordstrom - they didn't have the item either but at least they were helpful and polite.
- Pros: N/A
- Cons: Rude & impatient
Saks Bridal Department
by ajh543 at Citysearch
A bridesmaid of mine wanted me to go to the Saks Bridal department, but I didn't want to go because I thought all the dresses would be 12,000 and the staff would be snooty. However, after looking all over Atlanta I decided to make an appointment. I WAS SO GLAD I DID! The customer service was great! Even though i was only getting married in 5.5 months the staff there was very reassuring that I would find the perfect dress in time and i did. I would recommend the Saks bridal department to anyone.
But be advised....the dresses are going to be in the 3,000-6,000 range. They are not inexpensive. Also there isn't a HUGE selection, but I actually found this to be a plus. I didn't have to sift through thousands of dresses. I could just tell them what I wanted and they brought them to me. It was A LOT less stressful than other bridal stores I had been to. 5 stars!
And and another thing to think about..... I opened a Saks account and got 10% off my dress!
- Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Beautiful dresses, GREAT STAFF
- Cons: Selection, prices
Very nice. Exactly what I would expect from Saks.

This was the first bridal shop that I went to and the experience was very nice. Customer service was good and the consultant I worked with was knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately the selection of the type of dress I was looking for was limited (very simple, elegant, no frills/poofs/etc) and there was some pressure to buy. Expect to pay upwards of $3000 for a dress.
- Pros: good service, nice atmosphere, great if you're looking for a ball-gown style dress
- Cons: pricey, some pressure to buy
Customer Service Extraordinaire!
by lyn222003 at Citysearch
I haven't been into the salon yet, but the service over the telephone is simple and impeccable. They helped me find a dress Reem Acra dress that is probably two or three years old with in one week. I really am impressed with the level of service.
Best Keeps Getting Better!

Wow! Sak's just underwent a major renovation. Stunning! The merchandise selection is the best. The staff is so friendly and helpful. And the layout of specialty boutiques within the store, is like visiting a dozen different stores on Fifth Avenue. It can't get any better! Separate Men's Store on upper level is outstanding. Professionals know how to dress the business man. Update-3/13/07- The stunning Dior Boutique on the main level is outstanding.
- Pros: Quality Merchndise Selection, Wonderful Staff!
- Cons: Wish My Credit Limit Was Higher!
Traditional but stylish designer dresses for the low-risk bride.

The Scene
In this case, high-end price tags don't equal stuffy service. The staff is helpful, but hands-off; knowledgeable, but not overly aggressive. You can choose from about 100 dresses in stock--or attend one of Saks' bridal trunk shows and they will special order any dress you see there.
The Goods
Saks tends toward styles that are elegant, expensive and lean towards conservative brides. You won't find anything too out-of-the-ordinary at Saks--just timeless gowns that exude class and style. Most dresses are made of silk organza or silk satin and the designers are just as fine (Amsale, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, Reem Acra and the like). Sure, you'll pay at least $3,000 for a Saks gown--but you'll look like a million bucks.
best experience ever!

Why would anyone ever shop anywhere else?
Saks was the sixth bridal place I went to, and was by far the best. The customer service was impeccable and personal. Their dresses are expensive, but they are exquisite. Highly recommended.
Mother Ship Awaits
by nynynyny at Citysearch
I will give kudos to this location for attempting to take on the level of service Saks is famous for. The selection is not bad. However, some of the sales people there really need to go aboard the "mother ship" in NYC. Can we say, "Pretty Woman" syndrome? If you are there, you are there to spend. The NY store has always understood this. Just because my husband doesn't look like ultimate yuppie scum, he gets treated like a bum who doesn't belong there.
Unbeatable Brands and Service

I can't say enough great things about Saks Fifth Avenue. The cosmetic counters are the best. The shoe department rivals Bob Ellis, and the sales!!!! Not to be believed!!
