I love places like Rathburns, Two Urban Licks, etc. Bistro VG surpasses them!!! The Bistro Mojito is fantastic. The menu is french influenced, but the items are innovative. I have found the staff to be super. Most are older, so they know something. The patio is nice, but the real treat is the inside decor. Amazing find on the menu? Caramelized cauliflower!!! Please keep it there! Only down side is the fact that you're in suburbia and have to valet in an area rife with parking. How obnoxious.

Pros: Carmelized Cauliflower, back room, bistro mojito

Cons: forced to valet

I went to bistro VG last night for a special occassion, and I was pleasantly thrilled with my whole experience. Without wasting your time, here are the things you need to know: The food was great, came out hot & fast. The service was spot on. I never had to wait for anything, our server was one step ahead of us. The wine & martini list was superb, not sure who put it together, but whomever it is deserves a raise! Great atmosphere, very chic, cool music. If you're looking for a sterile enviroment, then maybe you should try Panos and Pauls. Come on ppl, it's 2008! The hostess was friendly and so was the manager. I noticed the manager (long blond hair) was visiting every table in the dining room, it was nice to see cause it doesn't happen too often these days.......I will be back, and I will recommend this place to friends.

Pros: everything

Cons: non

Like many in their late twenties and early thirties, I am always looking to get away from tired old bar scene and to find hip spot to bring my friends to show off my good taste without having to take an hour long trek downtown. That's why I fell in love with bistro VG! The atmosphere is lively, the decor breathtaking...very ITP only (the service is better!). The price range is affordable, and everyone I bring, even the pickiest of eaters, is able to find something they really enjoy. I haven't had a single thing on the menu that wasn't artfully presented and delicious...I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I went to the old Van Gogh's only once. I was stuffy, pretentious and over priced. I have been to the new Bistro VG several times and it's really nice having a restaurant that is comfortable, updated and fresh like this so close to my house.

Pros: Comfortable, Hip and Great Ambiance

Cons: ?

I really like Bistro VG and feel really special while eating there. They are very original in their food preparation. Last time I went I had pumpkin ravioli and it was outstanding. Never have I had an unpleasant experience.

Pros: THE FOOD!

Cons: Can't really think of any..

Unfortunately i am unable to comment of the food quality since my party of 8 never got to eat. Our reservations were for 8:00 and we actually left the restaurant a little after 9:00. Yes they were busy but give me a break and be honest. We were lied to most of that time with statements like "your table is being set up now", "just a few more minutes while the tablle is being bussed". After an hour they advised us that they would try and get us seated at table for 6, they must have forgottrn that we were a table of 8. Well, at this point VG you are forgotten.....by the way our bill later that night at your competitor down the steet was $1,136.13.

First impression - very chic and surprisingly charming in roswell! My husband brought me here for our anniversary and i was so impressed first, with the decor. Then the service also was great. The martinis were wonderful and the wine recommendations were fantastic. The entrees were very tasty and moderately priced. I ordered the crab cake entree (wonderful) and husband ordered the tuna / barley dish. Both were excellent. I am very eager to try this place again as I was very satisfied on all levels during my first visit in June. I do agree, that Valet is probably not necessary but it just so happened it was raining when we arrived so it was actually quite nice! I am looking forward to my next visit!

Pros: very chic decor, menu is not fussy

Cons: none!

We were looking for a romantic dinner and thought Van Gogh's would be perfect restaurant to celebrate 23 years of marriage. When walking to the entrance, I thought it was silly to have valet parking considering all the ample parking in the strip shopping center. The hostess was wonderful, and seated us right away upon arrival. But, there was no romance in this place! We found the restaurant too loud and felt as if we were in a screaming match just to be heard. It was so loud, you could not enjoy the music. There was no privacy as the tables were too close. Our waiter seemed ok, but was a bit on the cold side. I ordered the ravioli and my husband order the roasted chicken. I could have done better by preparing it myself at home. My pasta was over cooked and tough. The roasted chicken was under cooked and dark meat. We were not offered any refills on wine or water. Needless to say we are planning another dinner to celebrate our anniversary , and will not return back to this restaurant which in it's former days was one of our favorites.

Pros: Parking

Cons: Ambience, Food, Service

Let's get it out of the way -- this place is not cheap. It's not incredibly unreasonable either. Two of us had 3 cocktails, six 'small plates', and dessert for just over $100. We were a bit piggy and left stuffed. Decor is whitewashed modern decor intermingled with french country and some contemporary artwork. The music was a lot of European lounge and trip hop mixes (sounded great to me, not sure how well it went over with my older dining neighbors). Started off with two tasty and sweet drinks: a sugar rimmed margarita with pear and a grey goose with chambord and pineapple. Highly recommend both. Wait staff was attentive, made solid recommendations. We opted to skip on a dinner plates and go for a mix of 'starters'. Everything was fresh with unique flavors: tuna tartare with tobiko, buttery lump crabcake slightly carmelized on the bottom with slaw topping (ordered a second!), delicious gnocchi (just the right texture) with sauteed mushrooms, and a thin but creamy white bean soup with truffle oil. We wrapped up the meal with a very unique beignet covered in sugar granules sitting on candied marmalade sauce, accompanied by a small serving of thick dark chocolate mousse (forget the actual name). I grew up on these things so at first I was hesitant, since they were NOT the usual puffy pastry covered in powdered sugar. But it won me over, nice dense interior and rich sides to accent. Granted we were the early birds and received great treatment, so I don't know what it's like later in the evenings and hopping. But I will definitely be back...

Pros: Great variety of delicious French and Italian dishes, cocktails, solid service

Cons: Valet Only Parking
