Chain with hip, unique clothes & accessories

by LRBuckhead

I fell in love with Anthro years ago while visiting the big location in SOHO, NYC and I was thrilled when they came to Atlanta a few years later. I can always find something a little different from the staples at Banana Republic or J. Crew and I always get a lot of compliments on the clothes I get there. It is more expensive than Urban Outfitters (owned by the same company) but the clothes there are for a very young crowd. Anthro usually has a large selection of sale items in the back corner of the store.

  • Pros: cool clothes that aren't too young or trendy
  • Cons: some items are a little pricey

An eclectic variety of bohemian-chic clothing and home furnishings.

by Contributor

In Short
Tailored but never trendy, this affordable chain has been keeping the closets of career gals and housewives stocked with good-quality, basic wardrobe-builders, shoes and accessories since 1954. Diligent shoppers can unearth some seasonal options with more of an edge too: suede wrap skirts, retro-print separates or clingy little black dresses. Frequent sales make these stores prime ops for college grads on the prowl for interview suits, weddings and first-job career-wear.

European/Old World Style Housewares! Unusual Finds-Cookbooks/Gifts!

by jaymaygm

This store is so laid-back and inviting. Located on the second level of Lenox, next to Prime, you have to walk in. The housewares have that old world feeling in a new way. Half the store is Women's Casual Gauzy Wear, but it's the kitchen items, hardware, cookbooks and Burt's Bees products that keep our interests. Only draw back, if you find a certain item, they might have a very limited quanity. If you need a set of six to eight glasses, they might only have two or three. Great store to just browse, and the staff stays in the background. I guess you could call it a store for former hippies, who are now yuppies!

  • Pros: New Old World Look Housewares!
  • Cons: Pricy!

Up, up and away

by erinbehan_citysearch

Oh the prices are high, but the merchandise is tres chic. I like coming here to check out the styles and then find them elsewhere for cheaper. Anthropologie is part of Urban Outfitters, which Atlanta doesn't have, so it's a nice substitute. I often shop the houseware and gift section when I need a last-minute present for a friend. Anthropologie also stocks Burt's Bees products at the same prices you'd find anywhere around town.

  • Pros: unique clothing, funky accessories
  • Cons: expensive

Best Store in the Mall

by ebergman_citysearch

This is the one store I absolutely must visit whenever I'm at the mall. Yes, I know it's a chain and the eclectic Paris flea market reproductions are way overpriced, but it makes mall shopping so much more interesting. The housewares and linens are lots of fun to look at but too expensive to buy. I usually head over to the sales racks or splurge on a piece of clothing. I've always been able to find something.

Love the fabrics

by SueOstermann_Citysearch

Its hard to believe this is a mall store. The selection is much more unique than what youd find at a typical chain. Similar to Urban Outfitters, but the quality is better and the prices are higher. Look for lots of fun vintage-looking fabrics, embroidery and bead work. Find great deals on the sales racks. Home stuff is fantastic, but utterly unaffordable (say, $200 for one curtain panel).

  • Pros: fabric, variety
  • Cons: prices
