Excellent!

Very tasty indeed. However, get there early and you may be trapped in the small gravel parking lot by other motorists. Get there late and you may not get a spot without blocking someone else in. The gouda grilled cheese is excellent for a quick bite. Everything that I've had there is above average. Service is average. As for the signage mentioned by another reviewer - get over it. I don't care what the front sign says if the food is good...
- Pros: Food Quality, Desserts
- Cons: Small Parking Lot, Very crowded
Still one of the best

I had worked for a few months in the Roswell area two years ago and fell in love with Swallow in the Hollow. I was in the area last week for the ACC tourney and made a special point of going back.
I was quite nervous, as some reviewers claimed the quality had taken a serious nose dive. I am writing this review to claim it hasn't. Swallow in teh Hollow still delivers some of the best BBQ I have had the pleasure of eating.
I am on the road frequently and make a point of trying the local BBQ joints every time I can. I still think this is one of the best.
- Pros: Great ribs; great service
- Cons: parking
Very good Bar-B-Q in the ATL area

Ice cold beer served straight out of a canoe with about 300 lbs of ice in it. Very nice! The dinner portions are more than most humans can consume and very good quality. I typically get a half order of the Baby Back Ribs which comes with two sides. I recommend the Fried Green Tomatoes and Mac-n-cheese. Wash it all down with an ice cold vitamin Y, sit back and relax to some great live music. If you're in the Roswell area or just searching for something with a special atmosphere, check it out.
- Pros: Good Bar-B-Q, better music and tons of atmosphere
- Cons: A little out of the way
change is not always good

Menu has changed for the worst...many of the items we liked are no longer there (smoked sausage, and pizza) They still have a sausage sandwich but it does not compare to the other one. More fat in the meat. Thank goodness if your going for a show you are not required to eat there. Be very careful when you think you have a confirmed accomodation (as they call it) better call and confirm. Only one dessert offered and it's ok at best. I'd rather have less food and more quality on my plate. Parking is atrocious...staff can be very rude. Just lower your expectations and you may love it.
- Pros: great shows and you do not have to eatto see one.
- Cons: parking, quality of food, prices to high. Reservation process needs work

Food was so delicious! They BBQ is so good, but what I really liked is the Smoked Portabello Mushroom sandwich. YUMMY! I'm drooling just thinking about it. The portions are huge, but the food is a little pricey. I think it's worth every penny though. The atmosphere is really nice and laid back. It has that old Southern charm because it's an old farmhouse.
I recommend eating outside on the front porch. When it's nice outside and there is a nice breeze it's fantastic. The bamboo that grows creates some shade and privacy. There's nothing like it!

Loved it! From the hideaway spot to the decor and the food - it's the best I've had in a long time. The food is awesome (have I said that yet?), and the service is great. Don't dress up in your Sunday best because if you're trying to do the food justice, you'll get a little messy depending on what you order. It's worth a visit - especially if you enjoy a good rack of ribs.

This place has great barbecue, and they make everything right there, including their bread! It's awesome, from the turkey to the pork. It looks like a shack, but that's part of the style - it's definitely pricier than a roadside BBQ stand, but still definitely affordable, and for the portions you get, it's a great deal. The kids' meals are more expensive than anywhere else I've been - about $6, if I remember right - but they are HUGE and are easily two meals for a child. The flavor is incredible, and the atmosphere is perfect - this is the REAL DEAL.

All four grown children love this place. Favorites are ribs, pork, mac and cheese and their pickles. Full of atmosphere and personality!

My wife and daughter went to the swallow at the hollow as it was advertised on a PBS special about BBQ's. The atmosphere was ok, more like an old joint or honkytonk. We ordered a full portion
of ribs for my wife and I ordered a BBQ plate of pulled pork, our sides were fried green tomatoes and macaroni and cheese for me and my wife ordered F.F. and brunswick stew. It is a sad state of affairs when the side orders are better than the BBQ, but that was the case. The Mac and cheese was very good, the fried green tomatoes were greasy but cooked and hot, but I could have greased my car with the amount of oil that came with that order, the F.F. were over done, the brunswick stew was hot and tasty, the ribs were cold, and the pork was cold, over all the food at Sonny's BBQ was 100% better than the swallows. All in all I would not eat there again. The salads did look good, and it seems many people were ordering them, maybe thats what we should have done. Make no mistake about it, this is not a high quality restaurant if your looking for good BBQ. I guess if you knock back a few brew's most anything could taste good. I would avoid this place at all costs. I'm going to try Starbury's next time, but that is supposed to be good too, ugh, I hope so. I am a BBQ expert to a great extent, and this ain't it.
- Pros: Seems to be tailored for music lovers and folks who like to down a couple of cold brews
- Cons: looks dirty, the bathrooms have an ambience all their own

Okay --- the food was excellent - but let's face it folks - it's barbeque!
For the prices you would have thought we were eating at Bones
that being said -portions were huge - too big in fact -- ( hey cut the portions and the prices - there's an idea) very folksy, very quaint - off the beaten path - and they have music later starting at 10 or so
would i go back --? Maybe for the bluegrass- and when I get a raise.
- Pros: GREAT FOOD - GREAT MUSIC
- Cons: too $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
